History

1923 Established as a manufacturer of metal parts for key cylinders.
1933 Started production of key sets for Nissan and Toyota Motor.
1943 Constructed Nagoya plant in Aichi Prefecture.
1944 Constructed Yamanashi Plant in Yamanashi Prefecture.
1963 Constructed Gunma Plant in Gunma Prefecture.
1964 Formed technical tie-up with Flexible, USA
1982 Constructed Yokohama Plant specialized in manufacturing automobile key sets in Yokohama.
1987 Established Alpha Technology Corporation (Altec), in Michigan, USA as a overseas production facility.
1990 Company name was changed to Alpha Corporation.
Headquarters were moved from Kamata, Ota-ward, Tokyo to Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture.
1992 Formed technical tie-up with Valeo, France.
1994 Introduced new automated production line for keys in Yokohama Plant.
1995 Divided its Kyushu plant and established "Kyushu Alpha".
Started production of new automobile key cylinders.
1996 Formed technical tie-up with Woojin Industrial System Co., Ltd. concerning production of Key sets and outside handles.
Expanded the plant of Altec.
Started production of immobilizers.
1997 Transferred production at Yokohama plant to Gunma plant.

Dec. 2003 Established Alpha (Taishan) Lock Industry Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned manufacturing subsidiary in China.
April 2004 Listed on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
Oct. 2004 Established Alpha (Guangzhou) Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. in China through a joint investment with Marubeni Vehicle Corporation. The Company invested 90%. This joint venture is a manufacturing facility and consolidated subsidiary.
March 2005 Transferred to the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
June 2005 Liquidated its wholly owned Chinese manufacturing subsidiary Alpha (Taishan) Lock Industry Co., Ltd.
Oct. 2006 Supplied its new electric steering model to the Nissan Skyline.
April 2007 Established a new plant at Alfa HI-Lex in El Marques, Queretaro, Mexico.
Jan. 2008 Supplied its electric steering lock to the Mazda Atenza.
Nov. 2008 Opened its Shanghai Office in Shanghai, China.
May 2009 Supplied its new steering lock model to the Subaru Legacy.
Oct. 2010 Constructed Plant 2 at Alpha Industry (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Nov. 2010 Constructed a key-set plant at Alpha Hi-Lex S.A.de C.V. in Mexico.
Mar. 2011 Established Alpha Security Instruments (India) Private Limited, a subsidiary in India, investing 90% of the needed capital.
Nov. 2011 Established a production company in Mexico, investing 99.9% of the needed capital. The new company, Alpha Industry Jalisco, S.A.DE C.V., is currently a consolidated subsidiary.
Jul. 2012 Established a production company in Indonesia, investing 93% of the needed capital.
Nov. 2012 Established Alpha (Xiangyang) Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., the production subsidiary of Alpha (Guangzhou) Automotive Parts Co., Ltd.
Oct. 2015 Merger Gumma ALPHA Co., Ltd.
Sep. 2016 Acquired equities of ASSA ABLOY's Car Access Security Business.
Oct. 2018 Acquired the stock shares in the following companies engaged in the manufacture and sale of automotive interior and exterior trim and embellishment parts in France and Slovakia; turning ALT SAS: (owned 75%, in 2019 100%), Société de Peinture de Pièces Plastiques SAS (Indirect investment ratio: 75%, 2019 100%), and SPPP Slovakia s.r.o (Indirect investment ratio 75%; 2019 100%) into consolidated subsidiaries.
Jul. 2019 Turned Alpha Advanced Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., located in China, into a subsidiary.
Apr. 2022 Moved from the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange to the Standard Market category, which was the result of the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s market recategorization.
Apr. 2023 Established Alpha France SAS (100% stake) in France for European business development activities (strategic planning, sales and marketing, technical support, etc.).
