To increase its door handle production capacity in China
-The Company has constructed a new factory building at its Guangzhou plant and is installing 18 molding machines there. The production capacity will be increased 1.6 times from the current level. ALPHA supplies door handles to Japanese OEMs in China. The new factory building was constructed within the premises of Alpha (Guangzhou) Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of ALPHA. It has a floor area of 1,200 square meters. ALPHA will introduce machinery and equipment at the new factory to improve the automation rate and reduce manpower on production lines. The new factory will start production this summer and gradually increase the output with full operation slated for around May 2019. A highly efficient production system will be introduced at the new factory. ALPHA will position the new factory as a leading molding plant within its group. With the new system, the supplier also intends to cover rising labor costs in China. (From an article in the Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun on March 20, 2018)
