Business Overview

-The Company provides automotive lighting systems for four-wheelers, two-wheelers applications, commercial vehicles, and tractors/farm equipment segment. The Company primarily serves the Indian automotive market.

-Approximately 90% of Indian OEMs serve as the company's clients, and it claims a 60% market share in the Indian automotive lighting business, as per the company's research.

-Lumax Industries has one associate company SL Lumax Limited in partnership with SL Corporation, Korea. Lumax has a technical and financial collaboration with Stanley Electric Company Ltd., Japan.

-Lumax Industries operates 10 manufacturing plants in India, while SL Lumax has a manufacturing facility located in Chennai, India. In addition to these, Lumax Industries boasts two government-recognized R&D centers in India and one in Taiwan. Furthermore, the company operates a design center in Taiwan and recently inaugurated another design center in the Czech Republic.


-During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2023, The DK Jain Group owns 37.5% of the Company while Stanley Electric group owns 35.8% of the Company. The remaining 25% is owned by public and corporate bodies. The Company is listed on the National Stock Exchange of India Limited.

1985-87 The Company went public and listed its shares in the stock market. Start of operations by the manufacturing unit at Gurgaon, Haryana for Maruti Suzuki.
1990 Auto bulb manufacturing unit established in association with Stanley
1994 Stanley Electric Co. Ltd. acquired financial stake in the Company
Manufacturing unit established at Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
2004 Separated from mirror and filter division to focus on automotive lighting products.
2008 Plant setup in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand for Tata Motors and expansion of Dharuhera and Chakan Plants.

2019 Announced that the Company has signed a 50:50 joint venture agreement with Jopp Holding, Germany for manufacturing and sale of the automotive components such as shift tower (manual & automated)/ shift forks & all gear sensor assembly.
2020 Announced its joint venture with YOKOWO CO., LTD., Japan to manufacture and supply on‐board antennas and other vehicle communication products to the Indian automotive industry.
2021 Announce new plant in Sanand, Gujarat and Design center in Czech Republic
2022 Commenced its commercial production at its new manufacturing plant situated Sanand, Ahmedabad, Gujarat
2022 Opened another Design center in Czech Republic.
