Lumax Industries has one associate company SL Lumax Limited in partnership with SL Corporation, Korea. It has a technical and financial collaboration with Stanley Electric Company Ltd., Japan. The company operates 11 manufacturing plants in India, while SL Lumax has a manufacturing facility located in Chennai, India. In addition to these, it two government-recognized R&D centers in India and operates two design center i.e. in Taiwan and Czech Republic.

History

1945	Founded as a trading company.
1956-1966	Established manufacturing units for automotive lighting equipment.
1975	Established manufacturing unit for automotive filters.
1984	Became a public company. Started technical collaboration with Stanley Electric Co. Ltd.
1985-87	The Company went public and listed its shares in the stock market. Start of operations by the manufacturing unit at Gurgaon, Haryana for Maruti Suzuki.
1990	Auto bulb manufacturing unit established in association with Stanley
1994	Stanley Electric Co. Ltd. acquired financial stake in the Company
1994	Manufacturing unit established at Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
2004	Separated from mirror and filter division to focus on automotive lighting products.
2008	Plant setup in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand for Tata Motors and expansion of Dharuhera and Chakan Plants.
2010	New plant established at Haridwar, Uttarakhand dedicated to Hero Moto Corp.
2011	Plants established at Bawal, Sanand and Bidadi
2015	The Company’s plant at Pantnagar awarded with JIPM-TPM Excellence Award in Category A
2016	Opening of Design Centre in Taiwan

2019	Announced that the Company has signed a 50:50 joint venture agreement with Jopp Holding, Germany for manufacturing and sale of the automotive components such as shift tower (manual & automated)/ shift forks & all gear sensor assembly.
2020	Announced its joint venture with YOKOWO CO., LTD., Japan to manufacture and supply on‐board antennas and other vehicle communication products to the Indian automotive industry.
2021	Announce new plant in Sanand, Gujarat and Design center in Czech Republic
2022	Commenced its commercial production at its new manufacturing plant situated Sanand, Ahmedabad, Gujarat
2022	Opened another Design center in Czech Republic.
2023	Start of commercial production at new Chakan plant, Maharashtra
