Automotive division performance by business
Automobiles
-Sales of Vitz, RAV4 and Mark X Zio all declined. Total sales was 378 billion 100 million yen, a 24% decrease year-on-year amounting to 122 billion yen.

Engines
-Sales of AD-type diesel engines, which are mainly mounted on RAV4, declined. Sales totaled 156 billion yen, a 12% decrease year-on-year, amounting to 22 billion 100 million yen.

Automotive air-conditioning compressors
-The Company's sales were affected by substantial decreases in production volume at automakers in Europe and Japan as well as in the USA Sales were 186 billion 300 million yen, a 26% decrease year-on-year amounting to 67 billion 200 million yen.

Plan to enhance its production facilities for automotive diesel engines (DEs)
-According to the Company's plan, the Company expects to sell 580,000 units of DEs, a 13% increase from the previous fiscal year. The production facilities will be enhanced at the Hekinan plant located in Hekinan, Aichi prefecture, where DEs for industrial vehicles and automobiles are manufactured. The construction work will start in the latter half of this fiscal year. The Company plans to make a capital investment of 110 billion yen in fiscal 2008, a 5.6% increase from the performance of fiscal 2007, of which 60 billion yen will be allocated to the automotive business.
