Recent Developments Outside Japan

-China
The Company will establish its second subsidiary in China to produce and sell die casting parts. The establishment will enable the Ahresty Group to further increase its presence in the die casting market in Asia. The new facility will be set up in the Hefei Economic and Technological Development Zone in Anhui Province in July this year, and operations are scheduled to begin in the same month next year. The company will hold a registered capital of 2 billion yen. Sales are expected to reach 2.3 billion yen in fiscal year 2012. (From an article in the Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun on May 26, 2010)

-Mexico
Ahresty Mexicana, S.A. de C.V., the Company's Mexican subsidiary, announced plans to expand the existing casting facility and to build a new plant for producing dies. The total investment in these projects will amount to approximately 4 million USD. (From a press release on April 20, 2010)

Business Restructuring

The Company announced its reorganization of domestic production facilities for aluminum die-cast components. The Hamamatsu Plant in Shizuoka Prefecture will be consolidated to the Toyohashi Plant in Aichi Prefecture by March 2013, and the name of the Toyohashi Plant will be changed to the "Tokai Plant." Domestic production of vehicles has consequently shrunk since the financial crisis in the fall of 2008, and the domestic market of die-cast products has fallen to three quarters of the level in 2007. Though cutting production capacity, the company intends to maintain employment of its workers. (From an article in the Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun on August. 6, 2010)
