Solar Power International 2019 A new generation of long-life, high-safety lithium-ion power battery (battery cells in the center and module on the right)
-In the "New Energy Vehicle" key special project under the 13th Five-Year Plan, CATL took the lead in "Development of the Industrialization Technologies of New Generation Lithium-ion Power Batteries", which focused on high-nickel cathode materials, high capacity silicon-carbon composite anode materials, functional electrolyte and high-safety technologies. Using self-developed cathode pre-lithiation technology, CATL has successfully developed a long-life, high-safety lithium-ion power battery with a specific energy (mass-energy density) of 304 Wh/kg, a cycle life of 1,500 weeks, and safety that meets international requirements. The 355 Standard Module (right in the picture) designed with this battery cell (center in the picture) has a specific energy of 260 Wh/kg and stands up to vibration and shock tests.
