History

Sep. 1960	The Company was established.
Dec. 1974	Gwangju Plant was completed.
Nov. 1976	Its total production volume for the year reached 1 million tires, a record number among Korean tire suppliers.
Sep. 1981	The Company established the Central Technical Center in Gwangju.
Oct. 1989	The Company completed construction of its plant in Gokseong, Jeollanam-Do.
Oct. 1990	The Company established Kumho American Technical Center (KATC) in Ohio, U.S.A.
Feb. 1994	The Company became the first Korean tire supplier to be ISO9001 certified.
Nov. 1996	The Company established Nanjing Kumho Tire Co., Ltd. to manufacture tires in China.
Jun. 1998	The Company established Kumho Tire Europe Technical Center (KETC) in the U.K.
Nov. 2002	The Company developed the industry's first high-performance 26-inch tires.
Jun. 2003	The tire division of Kumho Industry Co., Ltd. was spun-off and incorporated as Kumho Tire Co., Ltd.
Nov. 2003	The Company moved its headquarters from Seoul to Gwangju.
Dec. 2003	The Company completed construction of its new plant in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-Do.
Feb. 2005	The Company was listed on the Korea stock exchange.
Jul. 2006	The Company established Kumho Tire (Tianjin) Co., Inc., a new manufacturing subsidiary in China.
Sep. 2006	The Company established Kumho Tire China Technical Center (KCTC) in Tianjing, China.
Oct. 2006	The Company developed the industry's first 32-inch tires for SUVs.
May 2007	The Company started building a new plant in Nanjing, China to produce radial tires for trucks and buses.
Jun. 2007	The Company completed construction of a new plant to manufacture natural-rubber parts in Vietnam.
Jul. 2007	The Company completed construction of a new plant in Changchun, China.
Mar. 2008	The Company completed construction of a tire plant in Vietnam.
Mar. 2008	The Company established Kumho Tire Georgia, Inc. in U.S.A
May 2008	The Company began construction of a research facility Yong-in City, Gyeonggi-do.
Nov. 2008	The Company completed construction of a new plant in Nanjing, China.
Sep. 2013	The Company established the Central R&D Center in Yong-in, Gyeonggi-do.
Jan. 2015	The Company decided to move and integrate its existing plants in Nanjing to a new site, and started construction of a new facility.
May. 2016	The Company held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of a new tire plant in Macon, Georgia, U.S.
Jul. 2018	Acquired by Qingdao Doublestar Co. Ltd. based in China.
