Executive Summary

 This is the second of a three-part series of MarkLines' reports covering 28 new models and six new technologies exhibited by six Chinese major emerging passenger car manufacturers - Chery Automobile/Zhejiang Geely Holding Group/Great Wall Motor/BYD Auto/Brilliance Auto/JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Group) at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show (The 15th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition).

 The third report to be posted at the end of May 2013 will cover exhibitions by major Japanese, US, European, and Korean OEMs including Toyota/Nissan/Honda and VW/GM/Hyundai.

Chery Automobile: exhibits All-new QQ, strategic sedan/ concept car of production SUV, and Chery's original new technology "iAuto"

Model Summary
All-new
Chery QQ
 The all-new Chery QQ is a fully-redesigned strategic hatchback of the former Chery QQ (commonly known as "QQ3"). Length/width/height: 3564/1620/1527mm with a wheelbase of 2340mm (the former model: L3550/W1495/H1485mm with a wheelbase of 2340mm). The all-new Chery QQ is larger than the former model. It has a new body design exterior, a wider interior, and improved safety performance and a power system.
 The fuel consumption announced by Chery is 4.2L/100km at a constant speed of 60km/h. The Chinese government provides incentives of 3,000 RMB per one unit of the all-new Chery QQ as a recommended energy-efficient model. In March 2013, Chery launched four 1.0-liter models. The standard price is 37,900-50,900 RMB (including the  incentives provided).
 The model comes with Chery's original "SQR371F" 1.0-liter (998cc) 3-cylinder gasoline engine (new 2nd-generation model, having 18 patents in China) (maximum output: 51kW/maximum torque: 93Nm) and 5-speed MT/5-speed AT with manual mode. The model (equipped with OBD: On-Board Diagnostics) meets Euro 4 emission standards. The maximum speed is 150km/h.
 The model features Bosch 9th-generation ABS + EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution) and two front-seat SRS airbags. The high-end model is equipped with a parking radar alarm.
Chery α7  The model made its debut in Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The Chery α7 is a concept car of a production model of Chery's first new strategic sedan (development code: "M16", which has been reported as "CheryA4") after the firm changed its corporate management policy. Length/width/height: 4652/1825/1483mm with a wheelbase of 2700mm. The production model (its official name is reported to be "CheryA4") is scheduled to be launched in October 2013.
 The model has featured "iAUTO (intelligence Auto)," Chery's originalautomotive core technology platform for the first time. The power system combines a 1.6-liter Chery's original turbo gasoline engine, SQRF4J16, which integrates GDI/TCI/DVVT technology, with Chery's independently-developed CVT.
 The model features a new driving system that employs cloud computing technology, a large-screen digital multi instrumental panel (including a reverse radar monitor/a car navigation system), and a lightweight, crashworthy vehicle body, 3R-Body ("3R" means Ring, Resist, and Route). The model won a five-star rating in China-New Car Assessment Program (2012 C-NCAP).
 The model features a keyless system, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), drive mode/suspension mode change, six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), 6-direction adjustable leather driver's seat. It is also equipped with an interior car lamp system that changes colors by sensing changes in drivers' feelings.
 At this Motor Show, Chery exhibited Chery iAuto (see the photo below), which is a cut model of the Chery α7.
Chery β5  The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The Chery β5 is a concept car of Chery's first new production SUV (CheryT21) after the firm changed its management policy. The model is scheduled to be launched by the end of 2014.
 The model features H.D.S. (Hydrodynamic surfacing) body design, and also shares 3R-Body and iAuto platform with the α7. The Chery β5 is 10% lighter than the same-type SUV. It also passed a five-star rating in China-New Car Assessment Program (2012 C-NCAP).
 The power system combines Chery's original 2.0-liter DVVT highly-efficient engine, "SQR484F (maximum output: 102kW/maximum torque: 182Nm)," which employs "iAUTO" platform, with Chery's independently-developed high-performance CVT.
 The model features a keyless entry system (PEPS: Passive Entry & Push Start system), four front-seat /side airbags, ESP (=ESC), EPS (Electric Power Steering), and ABS as standard equipment.
 The model is also equipped with a keyless system, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), drive mode/suspension mode change, a car air conditioner, and a power seat with memory. In addition, it is equipped with an interior car lamp system that changes colors by sensing changes in drivers' feelings.

Chery @ANT2.0
(EV)
 The Chery @ANT2.0 is a concept car (2-seater EV) of an electric vehicle that integrates new ideas on future lifestyle and the advancement of automotive technology. As a (stand alone) new future public transportation system, the model takes advantage of cloud computing system. It is a 2nd-generation version of Chery @ANT, which was unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show. It shares a similar lovely design of an ant with the 1st-generation model. Multiple units of the Chery @ANT2.0 can run maintaining a certain distance in a coordinated manner without contacting each other.

 The Chery @ANT2.0 is smaller than the 1st-generation model, which allows the vehicle to move more freely and also to run at low speeds. The model has no steering wheel and the vehicle moves forward/backward entirely through a non-contact induction control. The doors can be opened and closed with hand gestures. The model also introduces a wireless (non-contact induction) recharging system that allows the same models to be recharged maintaining a certain distance, and a remote/wireless recharging system.
 By using cloud computing technology, the driver can rent and control the vehicle, and make payments all through a smart phone. A cloud car navigation system allows the driver to avoid traffic congestion and to drive the best route. The Chery @ANT2.0 is also equipped with a driver monitoring system that prevents drunk driving and over-strained driving, recharging of digital devices including iPhone/iPad, and in-vehicle environment adjustment system that adjusts to the weather change/status of occupants.

 iAuto means "intelligence Auto". It is a high-tech/standard/advanced automotive core technology platform that Chery independently developed (an important achievement after Chery changed its management policy).
 The iAuto consists of three systems - "CHERYSMA (smart standard for vehicles with excellent balancing including body design/interior space/steering stability/safety)", "ACTECO (smart powertrain system)", and "CLOUDRIVE (a new drive system that uses cloud computing technology to integrate digital device interface and entertainment)".

 "C-cloud (Chery-cloud) ", which is a remote control/diagnostic systems using cloud computing technology, an individualized interior environment adaptive control system (U.Only), a voice recognition system (N.V.R), W.F.Y, which is a 24-hour round-the-clock assistance system that allows the driver to request service with the touch of a button, an in-vehicle infotainment system that uses 3G technology to provide a car navigation system/search for weather forecasts for each area/Internet music/checking e-mails/Internet surfing.

Note: At its technology booth, Chery also exhibited a cut model, Chery "iAuto", two 3rd-generation independently-developed ACTECO engines (1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine - ACTECO1.6TGDI and ACTECO1.6TCI, and one new CVT.

Geely Holding Group: exhibits concept car of new production sedan, production SUV/MPV, and EV sedan

Gleagle FE-6
Concept
 The Gleagle FE-6 Concept is a 5-seat new sedan concept car. Length/width/height: 4628/1789/1585mm. The model has an exterior design reflecting European high-end vehicles including a large grill, and a body line that emphasizes the side lines of the bonnet and utilizes curves that appeal to the Chinese aesthetic taste. The production model is scheduled to be launched around April 2014.
 The power system combines a 1.3-liter turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine (Geely's original JLB-4G13T with maximum output: 98kW/maxumu torque: 185Nm) with a 6-speed MT.
 The model features multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and an in-vehicle 3G Internet service system (G-Netlink). It won a five-star rating in China-New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP).
Emgrand KC
Concept
 The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The Emgrand KC Concept is an Emgrand high-end sedan concept car (4-door, 5-seat, fastback). Geely used its independently-developed new platform for midsize and large vehicles for the first time. The Emgrand KC Concept is a first concept car that Geely's global development team developed. Length/width/height: 4956/1860/1516mm with a wheelbase of 2880mm. It is scheduled to be launched in 2015.
 The power system combines Geely's original gasoline engines - JL4G24 (maximum output: 112kW/maximum torque: 210Nm), JL4T18 turbocharged (120kW/250Nm), or JL6G35 (202kW/345Nm) - with a 6-speed AT.
 The model features EPS, LED head lamps, a 360-degree surround view monitor system, adaptive cruise control (ACC), pedestrian protection system, lane departure warning system, electric parking brake (EPB), and Geely's original "TPMS" (originally dubbed "BMCS": Tire Blow-Out Monitoring & Controlling System). It won a five-star rating in China-New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP).
 In addition, the model is equipped with the iDrive operation system that controls various functions through a dial controller, BLIS (Blind Spot Information System = SVA), which warns the driver with an indicator on the door mirror when it detects a vehicle in the driver's blind spot, and an in-vehicle 3G Internet service system (G-Netlink), on which Geely is forming a partnership with a Chinese telecommunications company.
Emgrand EV8  The Emgrand EV8 is Emgrand's first production MPV (large high-end model). Length/width/height: 4840/1830/1750mm with a wheelbase of 2950mm. The model targets users for commercial (business) purposes. This 3-row model can be arranged from 6, to 7 and 8 seaters. The Emgrand EV8 is scheduled to be launched around November 2013. The selling price is approximately 150,000 RMB.
 The power system combines Geely's original 2.4-liter JLδ-4G24 engine with a 6-speed MT/6-speed AT/7-speed DCT, or Geely's original 2.0-liter JLω-4D20 gasoline engine with 6-speed MT/6-speed AT. Some models are equipped with a start/stop system. The Emgrand EV8 won a five-star rating in China-New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP).
 The model comes with a 360-degree surround view monitor system, in-vehicle 3G Internet service system (G-Netlink), Geely's original TPMS, multiple airbags, and electronic stability control (ESC).
Emgrand EX8  The Emgrand EX8 is a full-size large high-end SUV (3-row, 7-seater, AWD). Length/width/height: 4840/1845/1715mm with a wheelbase of 2800mm. It is scheduled to be launched as early as in 2013. The selling price is approximately 150,000 RMB.
 The power system combines Geely's original 2.4-liter JLδ-4G24 engine with 6-speed MT/6-speed AT/7-speed DCT, or Geely's original 2.0-liter JLω-4D20 gasoline engine with 6-speed MT/6-speed AT.
 The model features electronic stability control (ESC), Geely's original TPMS, seven airbags, and 360-degree surround view monitor system (a start/stop system is available as optional equipment in some models). It won a five-star rating in China-New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP).
Englon SC7
methanol
 The Englon SC7 methanol is a methanol-fueled sedan of the Englon SC7 (Length/width/height: 4682/1725/1485mm). It is an energy-efficient model in China. The vehicle weight is 1,256kg (total weight: 1,666kg). The maximum speed is 160km/h. The acceleration time from 0km/h to 100km/h is 17 seconds. In April 2013, test runs of 100 units of its taxi models are under way in Shanxi Province in North China.
 The Englon SC7 methanol features a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine (maximum output: 75kW/maximum torque: 135Nm). It meets Euro4 emission standards. The formaldehyde emissions are 10mg/km. The methanol consumption is 10.8L/100km at a constant speed of 90km/h and 13L/100km at a constant speed of 120km/h.

Note: Geely did not exhibit the "Emgrand EC7"1.3T model at this Motor Show, which is scheduled to be launched in mid 2013.

 The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The Emgrand EC7-EV is an EV sedan based on the Emgrand EC7 (two models - standard/long-distance). Length/width/height: 4635/1789/1470mm with a wheelbase of 2650mm. The Hangzhou Bay plant in Zhejiang Province produces the model. It is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2014. The sales target is 3,000 units for 2014 and 30,000 units for 2016 (announced by Geely).
 The 0km/h to 100km/h acceleration time is 7 seconds. The model can run normally at temperatures from -30°C to +45°C. The maximum speed is 180km/h for the standard model (200km/h for the long-distance model). The cruising range is 150km (theoretical value) for the standard model (realistic value: 100km) in NEDC mode and 250km (theoretical value) for the long-distance model (realistic value: 200km). Concerning collision safety, the Emgrand EC7, a base model, won a five-star rating in China-New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP) and a four-start rating in Euro-NCAP.
 The power system consists of a power lithium-polymer secondary battery (two models - a standard model and a long-distance model), non-synchronous AC power motor (maximum output: 150kW), and a 2-speed transmission. The charging power is 3k to 20kW.
 The power secondary battery for the standard model consists of 100 cells with its total volume of 176.3L (total capacity: (theoretical value: 28kWh/ realistic value: 25kWh), and the secondary battery for the long-distance model consists of 200 cells with the total volume of 211.5L (theoretical value: 40kWh/realistic value: 35kWh). It takes 30 minutes to charge 80% quickly on a special charging stand and less than four hours to fully charge the battery from a standard household outlet.

Great Wall Motor: exhibits four new HAVAL SUVs including the H7 HV and its original next-generation PHV platform

New HAVAL H8  The New HAVAL H8 is a high-performance smart, high-end SUV (2/4WD) that uses Great Wall Motor's new platform. Length/width/height: 4806/1975/1794mm with a wheelbase of 2915mm. The maximum speed is 200km/h. The model is scheduled to be launched at the end of 2013 (SOP in November).
 The power system consists of Great Wall Motor's original 2.0-liter GW4C20 turbo gasoline engine (maximum output: 160kW/maximum torque: 324Nm) and a 6-speed AT with manual mode. The model meets Euro 5 emission standards.
 The model features ESP, all-direction blind spot monitoring system, PEPS (Passive Entry & Push Start system), all-direction airbags, adaptive cruise control (ACC), night vision system, parking monitor system, large sunroof, and 10-direction adjustable leather driver's seat.
New HAVAL H2  The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The New HAVAL H2 is a compact urban SUV (2/4WD). Length/width/height: 4330/1815/1700mm with a wheelbase of 2560mm. The maximum speed is 175km/h. The model is scheduled to be launched at the end of 2013 (SOP in October). The selling price is about 90,000-110,000 RMB.
 The power system combines Great Wall Motor's original 1.5-liter GW4G15B turbo gasoline engine (maximum output: 110kW/maximum torque: 210Nm) with a 6-speed MT.
 The model features a right front blind spot monitoring system, ESP, ACC, and PEPS (Passive Entry & Push Start system).
HAVAL
H6 Sport
 The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The HAVAL H6 Sport is the latest sports type SUV of a fully-redesigned - the HAVAL H6. Length/width/height: 4649/1852/1710mm with a wheelbase of 2680mm. The maximum speed is 174km/h or 180km/h. The model is scheduled to be launched in October-November 2013.
 The power system combines Great Wall Motor's original 1.5-liter GW4G15B (maximum output: 110kW/maximum torque: 210Nm), 2.4-liter Mitsubishi 4G69 (maximum output: 120kW/maximum torque: 210Nm) gasoline engine, or Great Wall Motor's original 2.0-liter GW4D20 diesel engine with 6-speed MT/4-speed AT/6-speed AT.
 The model features six airbags, 8-direction adjustable driver's seat, digital collision warning sensor (with eight front sensors), parking monitoring system, and automatic anti-glare rear-view mirror.

 The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The HAVAL H7 is a high-end hybrid SUV (4WD) fully-equipped with off-road and on-road functions, which shows the direction of design of Great Wall Motor's next-generation midsize SUV. The model uses an independently-developed new platform. Length/width/height: 4677/1911/1702mm with a wheelbase of 2850mm. The vehicle weight is 2,034kg. The maximum speed is 220km/h. The model is scheduled to be launched in 2014.
 The model features Great Wall Motor's original new hybrid power system, which combines Great Wall Motor's original 2.0-liter GW4C20A/GW-TYZ70B engine (maximum output: 200kW/ maximum torque: 370Nm) with AT with manual mode. The model meets Euro5 emission standards.
 The model features a rear-view system that combines a touch-screen 12.3-inch digital instrumental panel with front collision prevention radar/reverse radar.
GW Kulla
2013 Type

 The GW Kulla 2013 model is a compact EV concept car (2-seater) of the latest, 2013 model of the Kulla. Length/width/height: 2560/1240/1530mm with a wheelbase of 1830mm.
 The cruising range announced by Great Wall Motor is 50km (on urban road). The maximum speed is 60km/h. It takes 15 minutes to charge the battery 80% quickly on a special charging stand. It takes three to four hours to charge the battery from a standard household outlet.
 The power system employs a power Lithium-ion battery unit and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The model features a gull-wing door.

 The HAVAL Hybrid platform is the latest, 2013 model (3rd-generation) of the plug-in hybrid platform developed for HAVAL SUV. The Platform boasts high fuel efficiency and high power. 4WD, EV, and HV drive modes are available. The platform improves fuel efficiency by more than 30% compared to the same type of gasoline power system. The cruising range in EV mode is more than 50km.
 The details of the power system (maximum output: 170kW) are as follows:
 (1) BSG system: Consisting of Great Wall Motor's original 1.5-liter GW4G15B turbo gasoline engine (maximum output: 110kW/maximum torque: 210Nm) (The former model is a 1.3-liter gasoline engine (for details, click here)), BSG motor (maximum output: 13kW/maximum toque: 50Nm), and 6-speed DCT.
 (2) Power motor system: Changed from the former Great Wall Motor's original system to a system made by Siemens. Maximum output: 60kW, maximum torque: 240Nm.
 (3) Power Lithium-ion battery unit: A water-cooling system is adopted. The total capacity is changed from the former 16kWh unit to 12kWh.

BYD Auto: exhibits Si Rui high-end sedan/S7 SUV, and 2nd-generation PHV production sedan, Qin

Model Summary
BYD Si Rui  The BYD Si Rui is a D-segment main strategic model on which BYD bets its growth (flagship sedan, unveiled at the 2012 Guangzhou Motor Show). The model was developed with a concept of safety/convenience/comfort based on market research that BYD conducted for six months over more than 20 provinces and owners of vehicles from multiple brands. Length/width/height: 4870/1830/1460mm with a wheelbase of 2755mm. The model is scheduled to be launched in April 2013. The selling price is 103,900-150,900 RMB.
 The power system combines BYD's original BYD 476ZQA 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine (maximum output: 113kW/5200rpm and maximum torque: 240Nm/1750-3500rpm) with 6-speed MT/6-speed DCT with manual mode. The model meets Euro 4/5 emission standards.
 The model features functions including BYD's original remote driving system (*Note) and telematics/cloud computing installed on the upper part of the instrumental panel. It is also equipped with advanced technologies that are not commonly used in Chinese vehicles including "BYD i (humanoid robot see the photo below)", which is an in-vehicle network service platform that can communicate with the driver through his/her facial expressions/gestures/voice, and Head-Up Display (HUD).
 The model also features Bosch's 9th-generation ESP, 12 airbags, 360-degree surround view monitor system, a power seat with memory, a 10.2-inch touch panel screen, and a 12.1-inch digital instrumental panel.
BYD S7  The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The BYD S7 is BYD's high-end SUV (4WD). Length/width/height: 4840/1855/1720mm with a wheelbase of 2735mm. The S7 is larger than the BYD S6 (Length/width/height: 4810/1855/1680 (1725) mm with a wheelbase of 2720mm). The BYD S7 is developed with a concept that responds to the needs of the market for large interior space/high power, and more intelligence. The model is scheduled to be launched in the third quarter of 2014. The selling price is about 100,000-180,000 RMB.
 The power system combines BYD's original 1.5-liter (maximum output: 113kW/maximum torque: 240Nm) or a 2.0-liter (maximum output: 151kW/maximum torque: 320Nm) turbo gasoline engine with 6-speed MT/5-speed DCT with manual mode. It has featured a newly-developed PM2.5 purification technology for the first time as BYD's production model.
 The model is equipped with a Heads-Up display (HUD), Bosch 9th-generation ESP (=ESC), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree surround view system, adaptive cruise control (ACC), and 12.1-inch instrumental panel.

* Note: Dubbed "BYD Remote Driving System"in English. The driver can remote-control the vehicle within a 20-meter visible range including start/stop of the engine, forward/reverse/right and left turn gear change (control of the vehicle at low speeds), braking, and parking.

BYD Qin
(PHV)
 The BYD Qin is a first production sedan model that uses BYD's 2nd-generation plug-in hybrid system, "BYD DMII System". The Qin Concept unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show held in April 2012 is the base model. Length/width/height: 4740/1770/1480mm with a wheelbase of 2670mm (BYD's first PHV, F3DM was L4533/W1705/H1520mm with a wheelbase of 2600mm). The BYD Qin is scheduled to be launched in the third quarter of 2013. The selling price including the government's incentives is about 200,000 RMB (BYD's first PHV, F3DM was 169,800 RMB).
 The maximum speed is 185km/h ("Qin Concept": 150km/h). The 0km/h to 100km/h acceleration time is 5.9 seconds ("Qin Concept": 6.9 seconds, F3DM: 10.5 seconds). The cruising range in EV mode is up to 50km ("Qin Concept": 60km). It takes five hours to fully charge the battery from a standard household outlet ("Qin Concept": 9 hours). The combined total fuel consumption with 90% in EV mode and 10% in engine mode is 2L ("Qin Concept": 2.7L) per 100km.
 BYD's 2nd-generation plug-in hybrid system "BYD DMII System" (*Note1, see the photo below) is used. For details, please refer to the report on the 2012 Beijing Motor Show (click here).
 The model features an independently-developed remote driving system and BYD i,  an in-vehicle network service platform equipped with telematics/cloud computing installed on the upper part of the instrument panel. It also features Bosch's brake system for HVs, 9th-generation ABS+EBD, 360-degree surround view monitor system, 12 airbags, and power seat system with memory.
(Note) 1. BYD DMII System means the 2nd-generation BYD Dual Mode plug-in hybrid technology system (see the photo below). "Dual Mode" represents two drive modes - "EV mode" in which an in-vehicle storage battery powers the drive motor and "EV + engine mode" in which, in addition to EV mode, the engine is used at the same time for acceleration. The braking energy is converted into electricity and is stored in the power storage battery.

 BYD Green Hybrid Energy Management System is a new solution for energy and environmental problems. ("BYD Green Hybrid Energy Management System" in English.) By controlling the energy flow of the vehicle, energy consumption has become more efficient to achieve energy saving and eco-friendliness.
 Main points are as follows:
 (1)Lead-free vehicle: BYD's original iron phosphate lithium-ion battery (voltage: 48V) integrates two batteries (power and ignition batteries). In other words, the lead-acid battery, an ignition battery (voltage: 12V) that is used in the former model, is not used, and its functions are integrated into the power lithium-ion battery).
 (2) Low/smart fuel-consumption: The system adopts low voltage/high torque, duplex winding electric motor technology. The fuel consumption can be improved by 1.5 liter per 100km compared to before the introduction of the system.

PM2.5 Green Clean
Technology
 "BYD PM2.5 Green Clean Technology" is BYD's newly-developed purification technology for PM2.5 in the interior of the vehicle. The Technology has been used for the first time in BYD's new SUV - BYD S7.
 BYD PM2.5 Green Clean Technology is employed in the car air conditioning system to detect/measure PM2.5 in and outside the vehicle to filter, sterilize, and get rid of odors. Through the four-stages of air purification process, PM2.5 levels in the interior air of the vehicle are reduced to below 12μg/m3.

Note: At the technology booth, BYD exhibited its powertrain that uses its advanced technology including a system that combines a 1.5-liter "1.5TI" turbo engine with DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), new 1.2-liter (1.2TI) and 2.0-liter (2.0TI) turbo engines, and dry transmission (6DT25) and wet transmission (6DT35), which had been exhibited at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show.

The Brilliance Dazhonghua III concept is a concept car (3rd-generation concept, 5-seater) of Brilliance's next-generation high-end model, tentatively dubbed "Brilliance H7" (product code: M11). The model is developed based on the former BMW 5 series. Length/width/height: 4910/1865/1480mm with a wheelbase of 2900mm. The Brilliance H7 is scheduled to be launched in 2014 or later (originally scheduled to be launched in 2013). The selling price is 150,000-180,000 RMB.
 The power system combines a 2.0-liter turbo GDI gasoline engine and a 6-speed AT. The model meets Euro5 emission standards. Aluminum alloy is used in the body. Multiple recyclable eco-friendly materials are used in the interior.
 The model features adaptive cruise control (ACC), E-drive controller, AFS (Adaptive Front-Lighting System), lane departure warning system, and panoramic roof that integrates a rear window and sunroof.
Brilliance C3  The Brilliance C3 is an urban crossover (5-seater SUV) that is a redesigned successor of the Junjie Cross. Length/width/height: 4210/1790/1512mm with a wheelbase of 2580mm. The maximum speed is 175km/h. The model is scheduled to be launched in December 2013. The selling price is about 100,000 RMB.
 The model comes with Brilliance's original BM15L gasoline engine (displacement: 1.5-liter) (maximum output: 77kW/maximum torque: 143Nm) and a 4-speed AT. The Brilliance C3 meets Euro5 emission standards.
 The model features a digital instrumental panel that instantly displays fuel consumption rate/cruising range, ABS+EBD, EPS, a car air conditioner, two front-seat airbags, a reverse radar warning system, and an immobilizer.
Brilliance H330  The Brilliance H330 is a new sedan for standard families designed by Italy-based Pininfarina. The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. Length/width/height: 4510/1755/1460mm with a wheelbase of 2580mm. The 0km/h to 100km/h acceleration time is 11.9 seconds. The model was launched in April 2013. The selling price is 65,800-75,800 RMB.
 The model combines Brilliance's original 1.5-liter high-performance compact gasoline engine (maximum output: 77kW/maximum torque: 143Nm, BM15L) with 5-speed MT/4-speed AT with manual mode. The fuel consumption per 100km is 6.3 liter for the MT model and 6.6 liter for the AT model. The Brilliance H330 meets Euro 5 emission standards.
 The model features EPS (as standard equipment), new ABS+EBD made by Germany-based Continental, four front-seat front/side airbags, 8-direction adjustable driver's seat, 26 LED lamps, and an immobilizer. UK-based Lotus took charge of the engineering of the suspension.

 The Brilliance H230 EV is a compact EV (5-seat) developed based on the Brilliance H230. Length/width/height: 4390/1703/1497mm with a wheelbase of 2570mm. The vehicle weight is 1,370kg. A test-run will begin as a vehicle exclusively used for the National Sports Meet 2013 in China scheduled to be held in Shenyang in August 2013.
 The cruising range announced by Brilliance and the maximum speed is both 120km/h. The 0km/h to 50km/h acceleration time is 4.7 seconds. The 0km/h to 100km/h acceleration time is 14.9 seconds. The electricity consumption per 100km is 11.9kWh, which is equivalent to about 6 RMB by market value as of April 2013.
 The power system consists of a permanent magnet synchronous power motor (maximum output: 65kW/rated output: 30kW), an iron phosphate lithium-ion battery unit, and a decelerator. The battery unit delivers total voltage of 320V/total capacity of 20kWh. The measured battery life is more than 2,000 times with 80% DOD (depth of discharge). It takes six to eight hours to charge the battery from a standard power source.
 The model features two airbags for driver's seat and passenger seat, ABS+EBD, EPS, and a reverse radar warning system.

Model Summary
Refine S5  The Refine S5 is an urban (compact) SUV that was unveiled at the Guangzhou Motor Show held in November 2012. Length/width/height: 4475/1840/1670mm (1680mm) with a wheelbase of 2645mm. The maximum speed is 180km/h. The total fuel consumption announced by JAC is 7.7L/100km. The exterior design is somewhat similar to that of the Beijing Hyundai ix35. The model mainly competes with BYD S6/ HAVAL H6/ Gleagle GX7.
 In addition to a 1.8-liter model launched on March 19, 2013, JAC will additionally start marketing a model that combines a 2.0-liter engine with a 5-speed MT in June or later (selling price: 89,800-99,800 RMB) and a new specification model that comes with a 1.5-liter turbo GDI engine and a 6-speed MT at the end of 2013.  In 2014, JAC plans to additionally launch a model that comes with a 2.0-liter turbo engine and a 6-speed DCT. (It is reported that JAC may launch a model with a 1.9-liter turbo diesel engine.)
 The standard price of the 1.8-liter model is 109,800-135,800 RMB. More than 4,200 units have been sold for less than half a month since it was launched.  The mode combines JAC's original turbo engine (maximum output: 120kW/maximum torque: 235Nm) and a 6-speed MT. It meets Euro5 emission standards.
 The model features multiple stability/brake systems including two front-seat airbags, ABS+EBD, ESC (Electronic Stability Control =ESP), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist), HAS (Hill Start Assist system), HDC (Hill Descent Control), and TCS (Traction Control System), EPS, and a reverse radar waning system. The model won a five-star rating in collision safety of Euro-NCAP and US-NCAP/IIHS.
He Yue A30  The He Yue A30 is a fuel-efficient new sedan (unveiled at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November 2012.). Length/width/height: 4435/1725/1505mm with a wheelbase of 2560mm (larger than the He Yue A20 below). It is designed with emphasis on Noise, Vibration, Harshness (NVH) performance. The maximum speed is 180km/h. The total fuel consumption announced by JAC is 5.9L/100km. The model is scheduled to be launched in May 2013. The selling price is about 70,000 RMB.
 The model combines JAC's original 1.5-liter HFC4GB2.3D gasoline engine (maximum output: 83kW/maximum torque: 146Nm) with a 6-speed MT. It meets Euro 5 emission standards.
 The model features ABS+EBD, EPS, an immobilizer, and PEPS (Passive Entry & Push Start system).
He Yue S30  The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The He Yue S30 is a new SUV in the He Yue series. Length/width/height: 4325/1765/1605mm (1645mm) with a wheelbase of 2560mm. The maximum speed is 180km/h. The total fuel consumption announced by JAC is 6.2L/100km. The model puts emphasis on NVH performance and is characterized by its fashionable/sporty/advanced exterior design. The model is scheduled to be launched at the end of 2013.
 The model comes with JAC's original 1.5-liter (maximum output: 83kW/maximum torque: 146Nm) or a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine and CVT. It meets Euro 5 emission standards.
 The model features multiple cargo spaces, a digital instrument panel, an immobilizer, a car navigation system, automatic parking assist, and multiple stability/brake system including ABS+EBD, and ESC/HBA/HAS/HDC/TCS, and ACC.
He Yue A20
(STT)
 The model made its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The He Yue A20 is a compact sedan for families. Length/width/height: 4275/1710/1505mm with a wheelbase of 2490mm. The He Yue A20 is slightly smaller than the He Yue A30. The air resistance coefficient (cd) is 0.266. The maximum speed is 180km/h. The total fuel consumption announced by JAC is 5.5L/100km. The model is selected as a government's recommended fuel-efficient models in China. It is scheduled to be launched in March 2014.
 The power system combines JAC's original 1.3-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine (maximum output: 73kW/maximum torque: 126Nm) with a 6-speed MT and a start/stop system. The model meets Euro 5 emission standards. It features EPS, ABS+EBD, and an immobilizer.
Refine M6  The model made its debut at the  Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The Refine M6 is a high-end MPV (JAC's main strategic model) that JAC's own development center in Italy designed. The Refine M6 (Length/width/height: 5025/1830/1905mm with a wheelbase of 2950mm) is slightly smaller than the Refine M5 (Length/width/height: 5100/1840/1970mm with a wheelbase of 3080mm). The model features sliding side doors.
 The target users are mainly the government agencies/medium-sized and large corporations/public offices in the public car market. The maximum speed is 175km/h. The total fuel consumption announced by JAC is 9.5L/100km. It is unknown when the model will be launched. The selling price of the Refine M6 is expected to be lower than that of the Refine M5 (159,800-193,800 RMB).
 The power system combines JAC's original 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo gasoline engine (maximum output: 130kW/maximum torque: 265Nm) with a 6-speed DCT. The model meets Euro 5 emission standards.
 The model features ABS+EBD, ESC/HBA/HAS/HDC/TCS, two large-area sunroofs, seven airbags, electronic stability control ESC (=ESP), and an immobilizer.

Note: JAC is scheduled to unveil the He Yue C30 in June 2013, which was not exhibited at this Motor Show. JAC is said to launch a new SUV (4800mm in overall length) at the end of 2014 (details including a model name are unknown, but it will be rear-wheel-drive model).

Model Summary
JAC iEV REEV  The iEV REEV is a production model (sedan, 4-seater) of a Range-Extended EV that is based on JAC's He Yue sedan. Length/width/height: 4590/1765/1465mm with a wheelbase of 2700mm. The vehicle weight is 1,600kg. The maximum speed announced by JAC is 120km/h. The cruising range is 350km in urban mode and is 55km at a constant speed of 60km/h in EV mode. The fuel consumption per 100km is less than 5 liters.
 The power secondary battery is an iron phosphate lithium-ion battery unit (total capacity: 11kWh). The battery life is 2,000 charges. It takes six hours to fully charge the battery from a standard power source. A gasoline engine is used for power generation.
 The model won a five-star rating in China-New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP). JAC's original telematics allows the driver of the iEV REEV to enjoy remote service. At this Shanghai Motor Show, JAC showcased one cut model of this REEV.

Note: In April 2013, JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Group) signed a contract to form a strategic alliance with US-based GTA (GreenTech Automotive Inc.) on electric vehicles (EVs). JAC sent 2,000 platforms of the iEV, Tngyue's 3rd-generation EV, to GTA's Horn Lake plant where GTA's EV power system, including a secondary battery management system, is to be installed and then the iEV is to be introduced to the US market.

 In April 2013, JAC exported/shipped 200 units of JAC iEV (without a power system) to the Horn Lake plant of US-based GTA. In 2012, JAC sold 2,485 EV passenger cars (mainly EV sedans based on the Tongyue) (JAC also sold 612 EV buses).
