Summary
The 2026 Automotive Optical Communication Technology Innovation and Application Forum was held in September at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. The China International Optoelectronics Exposition (CIOE) and the Shenzhen Automotive Research Institute of the Beijing Institute of Technology jointly hosted a conference where discussions focused on the development and applications of in-vehicle optical communication technologies and the establishment of the automotive industry (value/supply) chain.
At the Forum, a representative of the Geely Automobile Research Institute (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. (Geely) gave a presentation on Geely’s initiatives and challenges toward mass production of in-vehicle optical communication technology, as well as the direction of industrial development. This report presents excerpts from that presentation.
