The 2026 China Automotive Forum was held in Jiading District, Shanghai in July. Under the theme of "New Starting Point, New Opportunities, New Journey—Drawing a New Blueprint for High-Quality Development of the Automotive Industry", the forum featured meetings and related events including a Closed-Door Summit, General Assembly, Technology Leader Summit, and multiple thematic sessions.
From 2026, the Chinese automotive market is now characterized by sluggish domestic demand but strong export performance. At this forum, representatives from numerous automakers (OEMs) and supply chain companies exchanged views on technology innovation, inter-industry collaboration, and future development directions, taking into account the realities of the industry.
This report summarizes the presentations given by representatives from organizations such as the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Leapmotor, and FAW Group at the General Assembly and the Technology Leader Summit.
