Global Light Vehicle (LV) sales increased by 1.9% year-on-year (YoY) in January, while the selling rate dropped to a lacklustre 82.0 mn units/year, well below the 91 mn units/year averaged in Q4 2020.
The resurgence of coronavirus in several key markets continues to subdue current global automotive activity, and while vaccine roll-out is well underway in some regions, significant uncertainty regarding timing weighs on consumer and business confidence in the near-term.
