Summary
- Global Light Vehicle sales fell back in year-on-year (YoY) terms in April, down 1.4%, the first time the global market has contracted since August 2015. The selling rate slipped back to 91 mn units/year for April, from 94 mn units/year for March.
- China and Western Europe saw selling rates fall back after a strong start to 2017; meanwhile Japan improved. At this stage, we assume global growth will turn positive once again in coming months.
