-According to a report by GlobalData as of Q1 2026, global light vehicle production in 2026 is estimated to increase by 0.6% YoY to 93.11 mn.
-The conflict in the Middle East (ME) and its negative impact upon the global economy and LV demand principally underpins our 1.3 mn and 250k respective cut to the 2026 and 2027 Global LV Production forecast – compared with our prior Q4 2025 report.
-Currently, the direction of the conflict remains uncertain with the gyration of policy aims and potential outcomes elevating forecast risks. Our core base forecast is underpinned by the ‘short-war’ assumption in the Middle East (ME). Economic and market-led disruption is thus, assumed to be a near-term event with normalization of the demand and supply environment gaining momentum through 2027 and into the medium-term.
