Analysis of China's passenger car sales in March and outlook for April

The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) announced the production and sales volumes of passenger cars (including sedans, SUVs, MPVs but not minivans) for March 2021.

 

Retail
March retail sales of passenger cars totaled 1.752 million units, reflecting an increase of 67.2% compared to March 2020, the worst-hit month due to the coronavirus pandemic.
New energy vehicles (NEV)
In March, wholesale volumes of NEV passenger cars were 202,000 units, up by 261.3% y/y.
