Canada’s PM-designate Carney vows tariffs to stay until U.S. shows ‘respect’
On March 9, Mark Carney, the former governor of the Bank of Canada and Bank of England, won the contest to lead the Liberal Party in Canada after receiving 86% of his party’s vote, to become the Canadian prime minister-designate. Carney will be sworn in as prime minister within days, replacing Justin Trudeau.
