Virginia governor says state will abandon California emissions standards
On June 5, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, announced that starting on January 1, 2025, when that state’s current regulations expire, Virginia would no longer follow the emissions standards set by California and would instead abide by less-strict federal rules.
