JMS 2023: MIH, led by Foxconn, announces its latest solution for urban transportation

・The MIH Consortium (Mobility in Harmony Consortium, MIH), led by Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd.,) held a press briefing at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 (JMS 2023) at Tokyo Big Sight on October 26. The MIH Consortium's CEO, Jack Cheng, took the stage to introduce the three-seater electric vehicle (EV) concept car "Project X" as a solution for the smart city ecosystem of the future, and the "Project Y" solution, which provides a comprehensive strategy for smart logistics.

・Project X is a three-seat EV based on the Open EV platform and was introduced as a model that redefines urban transportation. Developed for fleets, rental companies, and other mobility service providers, it features a compact vehicle design with an overall length of 3,020mm, width of 1,840mm, and height of 1,690mm. It has smart and interactive displays, a swappable battery system that eliminates concerns about cruising range, and sliding doors optimized for quick entry/exit of passengers and loading/unloading of cargo. Automated driving functions can be customized from Level 2 to Level 4.

・With the Project Y solution, the company plans to utilize the Open EV platform in the field of logistics, developing vans, 3.5-ton trucks, and 5-ton trucks with its partners to improve transportation efficiency and realize smart and environmentally friendly logistics.
