Flex-N-Gate invests USD 175 million to expand in Grand Prairie, Texas

Flex-N-Gate Corp. announced that it is investing more than USD 175 million for a new 430,188-square-foot manufacturing plant in Grand Prairie, Texas. Approximately USD 70 million will be used to purchase new equipment for injection molding, metal stamping and automated robotic metal welding to increase manufacturing volume. Flex-N-Gate is relocating 172 employees starting June 30 from manufacturing operations in Arlington, Texas, which will be closed, to Grand Prairie, with plans to hire an additional 500 workers by 2020. The factory will be used for the assembly of front and rear plastic bumpers for the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade, which are manufactured at GM's assembly plant in Arlington, Texas.  (From multiple sources on June 7, 2018)
