On April 4 the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the Peoples Republic of China (MIIT) released a 306th list of approved manufacturers and motor vehicles. Only manufacturers and products that meet the relevant regulations and technical requirements can be approved and added to the list by the government.
The list includes 1,834 products from 509 manufacturers.
After classification by model (variants of the same model are counted as one model), the number of products approved is 1,518 (1,442 for vehicle models, sixty-eight for motorcycle models, and eight for tricycle models).
MIIT also released its third list of recommended NEVs for 2018. The list includes 304 NEV models from ninety-four makers: 288 EV models from eighty-eight makers; twelve PHV models from nine makers; and four fuel cell vehicle models from two makers.
The government has released fifteen batches of recommended NEV lists that include 3,706 models from 236 manufacturers since 2017.
