JAC Motors aims to build 40,000 cars annually in Ciudad Sahagun, Mexico
Chinese state-owned automaker JAC Motors is currently in an expansion phase to produce 40,000 vehicles annually in Mexico for both the domestic and export markets.
Elias Massri Sasson, president of the Board of Directors of Giant Motors Latin America, the company that assembles vehicles for JAC, told local media that the company currently builds two SUVs and the J4 subcompact at the assembly plant located in Ciudad Sahagun for the domestic market, but there are plans to take advantage of the Mexico’s trade agreements for export opportunities.
The company would like to have 30,000 units produced in 2018, of which 1,200 will be marketed in Mexico.
