Mexican production up 7.7%, exports up 15.0% in September

The Asociacion Mexicana de la Industria Automotriz (AMIA) released September 2017 detailed figures on October 9.
Production of 307,174 light vehicles in September was up 7.7% from the 285,344 units produced in the same month last year.
Productions by manufacture are as follows: GM was up 2.3% to 70,551 units, Nissan was down 3.7% to 63,271 units, FCA was up 30.9% to 58,339 units, VW was up 180.5% to 34,321 units, and Kia was up 43.6% to 22,294 units.

Exports in September of 270,899 light vehicles showed an increase of 15.0% compared to the number of vehicles exported last September.
Exports by manufactures are as follows: GM was up 11.8% to 60,921 units, FCA was up 18.6% to 50,363 units, Nissan was up 38.1% to 45,173 units, VW was up 72.4% to 32,029 units, and Ford was down 31.7% to 23,224 units.
The destination of first nine month export volumes indicates that the majority of exports, 76.1%, went to the U.S. The North America region accounted for 84.8% of the total exports.
