Mexican production up 0.7%, exports up 7.8% in July

The Asociacion Mexicana de la Industria Automotriz (AMIA) released July 2017 figures on August 7.
Production of 286,417 light vehicles in July was up 0.7% from the 284,398 units produced in the same month last year.
Productions by manufacture are as follows: GM was up 18.4% to 60,802 units, FCA was up 13.7% to 55,723 units, Nissan was down 12.4% to 52,016 units, VW was down 13.3% to 36,799 units, and Kia was up 71.0% to 21,978 units.

Exports in July of 243,056 light vehicles showed an increase of 7.8% compared to the number of vehicles exported last July.
Exports by manufactures are as follows: FCA was up 27.8% to 55,995 units, GM was up 33.4% to 49,310 units, VW was up 4.1% to 35,385 units, Nissan was down 15.5% to 31,113 units, and Ford was down 27.8% to 21,193 units.
The destination of first seven month export volumes indicates that the majority of exports, 76.4%, went to the U.S. The North America region accounted for 85.2% of the total exports.
