Argentina car sales, exports, production up in May

On June 6, Argentina’s Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ADEFA) announced that wholesale sales of 79,521 units in May was 16.7% higher than in April, and 31.7% higher than in May 2016.
Between January and May, wholesale sales accounted for 334,700 units, an increase of 18.3% compared with the same period in 2016.
Argentina’s production of 45,273 vehicles in May was 20.0% more than in April and 13.8% more than May 2016.
Between January and May, the country produced a total of 173,908 units, 4.6% less than the 182,383 units produced in the first five months of 2016.
In May, 19,956 vehicles were exported, an increase of 7.5% compared to April, and 9.7% more than in May 2016.
A total of 78,720 vehicles were exported in the first five months of 2017, 6.1% more than during the same period in 2016.
