Indonesian sales up 9.7% in February

Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in February were 96,722 units up 9.7% year over year. It was the 11th consecutive month of increases.
January - February sales were up 5.8% to 183,323 units.
By automaker sales in February, Toyota was up 49.2% y/y to 37,968 units and Daihatsu was up 20.3% to 17,755 units. Honda was down 12.0% to 16,284 units. Mitsubishi was down 15.1% to 9,069 units. Suzuki was down 13.0% to 8,069 units.
Toyota and Daihatsu sales were very strong with recently launched new MPV models.
In February sales of commercial vehicle manufactures such as Hino, Isuzu, and UD Trucks surged owing to infrastructure projects and rising prices of commodities.
