Renault Clio Strengthens Competitiveness with Fuel-Efficient FHEV and Advanced Features

The sixth-generation Renault Clio began sales across Europe in January 2026. The ICE version is powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, while the full hybrid (FHEV) version uses a 1.8L 4-cylinder gasoline engine. A 1.2L 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline/LPG bi-fuel version has also been available since June 2026. The FHEV achieves a WLTP combined fuel consumption of 4.1 L/100 km, comparable to the Toyota Yaris Hybrid's 3.8–4.3 L/100 km.
As competitors accelerate the electrification of small cars, Volkswagen unveiled the BEV ID. Polo in 2026, while Peugeot plans to begin production of the next-generation 208 in 2027 and Opel plans to start production of the next-generation Corsa in 2028. In contrast, Renault has opted not to offer a BEV version of the Clio, instead positioning the Renault 5 E-Tech electric and
Renault 4 E-Tech electric as separate models. Renault aims to expand Clio sales by enhancing its appeal through the FHEV's fuel efficiency and advanced features, including an infotainment system with Google built-in, targeting customers seeking gasoline and hybrid vehicles.

Sales Volume in Western Europe Full-Year 2025 / Jan.–Jul. 2026:
