On June 14, Jiangling Motors Co., Group (JMCG) and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement at Huawei’s Shenzhen headquarters. This agreement is an important move by JMCG to accelerate its transformation to smart driving.
At the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, JMC exhibited unmanned driving technologies, NEV pickups, and smart pickups, representing the company’s decision to shift to electrification, connectivity, intelligence, and sharing.

On June 6, JMC released a production and sales report for May.
Overall production in May totaled 23,611 units for a 8.3% y/y decline, while sales totaled 22,016 units for a 8.8% y/y decline. Year-to-date (YTD) production from January to May totaled 112,417 units for a 3.4% y/y decline, while sales totaled 113,134 units for a 1.4% y/y decline.
Among them, sales of Ford commercial vehicles were 2,987 units, reflecting a 7.9% y/y decline. YTD sales totaled 14,184 units, reflecting a 13.2% y/y decline.
Sales of Ford SUVs were 3,313 units for a 659.9% y/y increase. YTD sales totaled 20,632 units for a 697.8% y/y increase.
Sales of JMC truck were 7,517 units reflecting a 17.0% y/y decline. YTD sales totaled 37,176 units reflecting a 8.3% y/y decline.
4,679 JMC pickup trucks were sold for a 21.8% y/y decline. YTD sales totaled 25,199 units for a y/y decline of 15.85%.
2,850 JMC light buses were sold for an 30.8% y/y decline. YTD sales totaled 12,458 units for a 26.3% y/y decline.

Ford China released an official image of its Chinese-market small electric SUV known as the Territory EV on June 6.
The vehicle has a range of 360 km (in accordance with NEDC), a 2,716mm-long wheel base and a 10.25 inch high resolution digital instrument panel. It is set for release in China by the end of 2019.
The Territory EV is also equipped with blind spot detection, lane departure warning, intelligent high beam control, and a traffic sign recognition system. A handy feature is its ability to use a smartphone to confirm vehicle location, battery level, and search for charging facilities.
The Territory EV is the first EV introduced by Ford in China and is the first new energy vehicle (NEV) launched since Ford announced its "Ford China 2.0" Chinese business plan.
