On April 16, GAC Mitsubishi released a five-year strategy plan for the period from 2019 to 2023 and showcased the e-Yi concept vehicle at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show.
The automaker will launch 2 to 3 models (facelifted models included) each year by 2023. GAC Mitsubishi and Mitsubishi Motors will launch 3 NEVs within the next five years.
Mitsubishi Motors will complete construction of the GAC Mitsubishi R&D center and component industrial park, its first vehicle manufacturing and component R&D institute in China, in 2020.
In terms of system innovation, GAC Mitsubishi will explore online sales channels and leverage traditional sales methods to further integrate its system with mobility platforms.

On April 4, GAC Trumpchi showcased all of its products at the 2019 St. Petersburg Auto Show. The company announced that it plans to launch the Trumpchi GS8 midsize 7-seat SUV, Trumpchi GM8 large-size MPV, and Trumpchi GS5 compact SUV in Russia. The Trumpchi GS8 will be launched in the second half of 2019 in the country.
On April 3, GAC Motor RUS held a ceremony in Moscow to celebrate the start of operation, indicating GAC has kicked off operation in the Russian market.
At the show, GAC Trumpchi showcased models including the Trumpchi GS8, GM8, GM6, GS5, GS4, GS3, GA8, GA4, and the GE3 530, covering segments of SUV, MPV, sedan, and NEV.
At GAC Trumpchi’s press conference, the automaker signed contracts with the first batch of Russian dealers. It plans to form a dealer network involving the top 20 cities for vehicle sales in Russia for the next three to five years, becoming a mainstream brand in the country.

On April 9, GAC Group released a sales and production report for March.
Overall production in March totaled 189,698 units, reflecting a 1.1% y/y decline, while sales totaled 182,760 units, reflecting a 0.3% y/y decline. Year-to-date (YTD) sales from January to March totaled 494,734 units, reflecting a 2.7% y/y decline.
GAC Honda had March sales of 72,015 units for a 27.5% y/y increase. YTD sales totaled 187,694 units, reflecting an 11.4% y/y increase.
GAC Toyota had March sales of 54,918 units for a 27.8% y/y increase. YTD sales totaled 161,824 units, reflecting a 45.6% y/y increase.
Guangzhou Automobile Group had March sales of 33,806 units for a 37.6% y/y decline. YTD sales totaled 88,038 units for a 41.0% y/y decline.
GAC Fiat sold 7,663 units reflecting a y/y decline of 50.7%. YTD sales totaled 21,706 units for a 41.3% y/y decline.
GAC Mitsubishi had a 1.6% y/y sales increase, selling 12,905 units. YTD sales totaled 32,011 units for a 16.6% y/y decline.
