On October 21, an unveiling ceremony was held for the FAW-VW Digitalization R&D Center in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
Before the unveiling ceremony, the Chengdu Longquanyi District People’s Government signed a project investment agreement with the FAW-VW Digitalization R&D Center.
According to the agreement, the FAW-VW Digitalization R&D Center will be based in Chengdu. After the project is completed and put into operation, it is expected to form a R&D team consisting of more than 400 people who will be engaged in the digital business of vehicle smart connectivity and marketing. The project objective is to provide a more prominent experience for users of the three major brands (Volkswagen, Jetta, and Audi), and to build an innovative R&D system in the futuristic industry.

On October 21, UkrAVTO announced that ZAZ (Zaporizhzhya Automobile Plant) which is part of the Ukrainian Automobile Corporation does not intent to establish the production of a crossover together with one of the Chinese manufacturers in the near future.
UkrAVTO mentioned that it had no talks with the FAW Group and does not plan to launch a production project using the aggregate base model of the aforementioned automaker.
At present, Groupe Renault models, as well as KIA models, are being produced at Zaporizhia Automobile Plant.

On September 29, the Hongqi brand of China FAW Group Co., Ltd. (FAW) held a ceremony at the FAW headquarters to celebrate the export of its E-HS9 intelligent battery electric SUV to Norway.
At a promotion event for E-HS9 held in Norway recently, 1,300 Norwegian users viewed the Hongqi E-HS9 prototype, 365 of whom preordered it on the spot. So far, the bookings have already risen to 500 units.
Norway enjoys the highest penetration rate of new energy vehicles in the world. Supported by its environmentally friendly policies and complete infrastructure, Norway is a perfect fit for the company vision of the Hongqi brand.
