On April 25, at the Auto China 2024 in Beijing, Golden Sunflower, an FAW Group sub-brand, debuted a full range of models: the Guoyao ultra-luxury full-size SUV, the Guoli top-tier luxury flagship sedan, the Guoya ultra-luxury executive sedan, the Guoyue luxury concierge bus, and a new concept vehicle.

Specifically, the Guoya became available for global pre-order. The exterior integrates Chinese aesthetics and cutting-edge technologies, and the interior adopts a classic axisymmetric design. The vehicle is equipped with configurations and features such as an in-house developed 3.0T or 4.0T engine, an intelligent 4WD system, an 8-speed automatic transmission, an augmented reality head-up display, and face, voiceprint, and gesture interaction modes.

On April 25, at the Auto China 2024 in Beijing, FAW Group debuted the new Hongqi EHS7 mid-to-large-size electric SUV.

The Hongqi EHS7 employs a new design concept, the Tiangong electric platform, and the Jiuzhang intelligent platform. The 22 high-precision sensors in the vehicle body enable 360-degree, blind spot-free real-time monitoring of the surrounding environment and braking or an evasive maneuver at a millisecond-range response speed. The vehicle is also equipped with an ultra-large 63.6-inch augmented reality head-up display with high-precision positioning technology.

On April 18, FAW Group released its “SIGHT 531” development strategy.

SIGHT stands for Safety, Intelligence, Green, Health, and Taste.

-          Safety: FAW Hongqi, a sub-brand, is committed to developing a high-insulation safe battery that will not run out of control and catch on fire. By 2026, the company will achieve a battery housing impact resistance energy of over 700J, equivalent to 1.6 times the kinetic energy of a bullet fired from a handgun.

-          Intelligence: FAW Hongqi will debut the Active Suspension 2.0 in 2024, with application to the C801 sedan. The Active Suspension 3.0, which makes shock absorption adjustments to the vehicle for every centimeter of driving, will be introduced in 2026.

-          Green: The latest production high-efficiency electric drive system from FAW Hongqi delivers a maximum efficiency of 96% and a power density of 3.2kW/kg.

-          Health: Ecological nano-ion real leather technology will make its debut in the new FAW Hongqi H9 sedan to be launched this month. This technology ensures an aldehyde-free and odorless interior.

-          Taste: FAW Hongqi will work in depth with the Palace Museum to combine Chinese classical architecture aesthetics with cutting-edge technologies for perfect incorporation into the design of its products. The company will continuously conduct project cooperation with the Dunhuang Academy, successively presenting the latest results within 2024.

Furthermore, FAW Group introduced three FAW Hongqi-branded technology platforms, namely, the HME platform for compact to mid-to-large-size battery electric vehicles, the HMP platform for compact to mid-to-large-size hybrid vehicles, and the HIS intelligent platform that serves as the main carrier for high-level AI-based mobility.
