California new vehicle registrations forecast to decline 3.9% as hybrid demand grows
California new light vehicle registrations are projected to total 1.73 million units in 2026, down 3.9% from 2025, after first-half registrations fell 7.7% year over year to 864,848 units. Battery electric and fuel cell vehicle (ZEV) registrations declined 24.8% in the first half, reducing their market share to 15.9%....
