Canada to match 25% tariff on U.S.-made vehicles in response to Trump’s tariff actions
On April 3, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a matching 25% tariff on U.S.-made vehicles as a response to U.S. President Trump’s 25% tariff on automotive imports that came into effect at midnight. Carney expects the Canadian tariff to generate CAD 8 billion which will be used to support workers and businesses.
