Toyota to make adjustments at Sorocaba plant in Brazil

On May 25, local media reported that Toyota do Brasil will take actions to adjust production at its Sorocaba plant in Brazil that will include voluntary resignations, as well as reducing temporary contract employees.
Toyota expects to end 340 jobs by the end of June to fit the current market situation, although no mention has been made of ending three-shift production at the plant.
With nearly 3,000 employees, the Sorocaba plant, which produces Etios and Yaris models, has been affected by the drop in exports to the Argentine market.
There is no change of plans in the factories of Indaiatuba plant, which produces the Corolla, nor the Porto Feliz plant, which builds engines for the Etios, Yaris, and Corolla.
