Cathode material for lithium-ion batteries that does not use highly scarce cobalt. Unlike existing NCM (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese) materials which incorporate manganese and cobalt, this material is currently under development without using cobalt. Compared to existing materials, it offers high capacity, high voltage, and excellent charge/discharge cycle characteristics, maintaining 89% discharge capacity after 500 cycles. Particle size is customizable according to customer needs. A 20% cost reduction compared to existing materials is potentially achievable.
