-2nd generation brake-by-wire. -Series production will start from 2022. -The one-box system integrates the master cylinder, brake booster and control system (ABS and ESC) into a single compact and lightweight module. -This modular system is a step towards a pure dry brake system, that does not need brake fluid, and in addition it is expected to contribute to the realization of highly automated driving. -The first generation MK C1 brake system is equipped on some Audi models, the Volvo XC60 and S90, and the Ford Mustang MACH-E-GT which was displayed at the IAA Mobility 2021.
A by-wire brake system that integrates brake actuator, brake booster and control system such as ABS and ESC into the brake unit. It further downsizes the former MK C1. As an electro-hydraulic system, brake pressure increases much faster than in conventional hydraulic systems. Combining the MK C1 with an MK 100 based Hydraulic Brake Extension (HBE) will produce a redundant braking system for advanced autonomous driving.
