The system integrates the brake master cylinder, brake booster and control system (including ABS anti-lock and ESC electronic stability control) into a single compact module, which is approximately 30% lighter than conventional solutions. Developed based on a multi-logic architecture, it is compatible with both distributed and centralized electrical/electronic architectures, and can optionally integrate global motion control functions. The system is paired with the MK100 HBE hardware platform to provide redundant backup of the braking function for HAD (Highly Automated Driving) solutions.
It consists of master cylinder, booster and ABS/ESC into one unit. It is an electronic vacuum-less brake apply and modulation system suitable for ICE, Hybrid or BEV vehicles.
It is a iBooster for use in hybrid and electric vehicles. The iBooster operates by the actuation of the brake pedal which is detected via an integrated differential travel sensor and this information is sent to the control unit. The control unit determines the control signals for the electric motor, while a three-stage gear unit converts the torque of the motor into the necessary boost power. The power supplied by the booster is converted into hydraulic pressure in a standard master brake cylinder.
