On July 24, Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar) announced that its board has approved an investment of up to USD 10 million in its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sona BLW Edrive Mexicano, S.A.P.I. DE C.V. The investment aims to meet the capital expenditure requirements for the subsidiary based in Mexico. It holds 99.99% share capital of the subsidiary.
Additionally, its board of directors has approved the raising of funds up to INR 24 billion. The fund-raising will be conducted through multiple methods and aimed at Sona BLW’s expansion and operational initiatives.

On July 24, Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar) announced that during Q1 FY 2025 ending June, a North American OEM of electric commercial vehicles awarded it a program to supply intermediate gears, input shafts, and park gear for their upcoming electric class 5 truck. Earlier, it had won the order to supply the final drive differential assembly for this program. This total order value has increased by INR 6.8 billion to INR 10.85 billion, with production expected to start in Q4 FY 2025.
Additionally, Sona BLW secured its first product order in the sensors and software business from a new Asia-based OEM of electric PVs. The company will supply ACAM, or in-cabin sensors, for electric passenger vehicles. This order adds INR 1.5 billion to its order book, with production anticipated to commence in Q3 FY 2027.
Overall, in EV programs, Sona Comstar added one new program and one new customer in Q1 FY 2025. The number of awarded programs increased to 55 across 31 different customers.

On July 25, The Department of Atomic Energy announced that the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD), a constituent unit of the Department of Atomic Energy, has found the presence of lithium resources in Mandya and Yadgiri districts, Karnataka. Further, preliminary surveys and limited subsurface exploration have been carried out in Yadgiri district, Karnataka to identify and estimate the Lithium resources. 
AMD has established 1,600 tonnes (G3 stage) lithium resources in the Marlagalla area, Mandya district, Karnataka. It is exploring lithium in the potential geological domains in parts of Korba District, Chhattisgarh. However, the major mica belts located in Rajasthan, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh and Pegmatite Belts in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka are the potential geological domains in the country for Lithium resources.
