On May 2, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation launched FUSO’s all-electric light-duty eCanter in Turkey, collaborating with local partner, TEMSA. The launch ceremony was held in TEMSA’s production facility in Adana, Turkey.

The vehicle will be manufactured in Mitsubishi Fuso’s Tramagal plant in Portugal and imported as BU (built-up) trucks in Turkey. The vehicle will be offered in 5 different models in the 6, 7.5, and 8.5-ton segments and will be available for sale as of May 1, 2024.

The vehicle will be available in different battery options, either two pieces (82kWh) or three pieces (124kWh), providing a driving range of up to 200 km. The 82kWh battery variant includes a fast-charging capability, charging the vehicle in just 72 minutes. The vehicle also offers a digital display, multimedia screen, heated driver's seat, enhanced cabin insulation, and several safety features.

On March 27, Daimler Truck’s RIZON brand announced that the first batch of its all-electric trucks is now on the streets of America following deliveries of 20 units to customers in California, with more units scheduled to be handed over throughout March of 2024.

RIZON is Daimler Truck’s ninth, and newest, brand and represents its dedication to zero-emission transportation. The brand and its trucks were announced for the first time during the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in May of 2023, in Anaheim, California.

The class 4 and 5 medium-duty battery-electric vehicles, ranging from 15,995 up to 17,995 lbs. in gross vehicle weight (GVW), can run from 75 -110 miles (for M size variant with 2 battery packs) to 110 -160 miles (L size variant with 3 battery packs) on a single charge.RIZON trucks are capable of being charged by two types of battery charging systems: DC Fast Charging (via CCS1 connector), and less expensive Level 2 AC Charging (via J1772 connector).

On March 14, 2024, PT. Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB) announced that Mitsubishi Fuso has continued to lead the commercial vehicle segment in Indonesia for 53 years, as its retail sales reached 33,283 units in 2023 (down 13.3% from 2022).

In 2023, commercial vehicle market in Indonesia experienced quite volatile dynamics and a decline in demand of up to 9% compared to 2022, with a market volume of 84,957 units. Despite challenging market conditions, Mitsubishi Fuso achieved a market share of 39.2%. Its biggest contributor to sales came from Canter in the light duty truck (LDT) class with 29,062 units. Meanwhile, in the medium duty truck (MDT) class, the Fighter X sold 4,179 units.

In 2024, Mitsubishi Fuso's market share is expected to grow to 41% with sales reaching 34,850 units. Furthermore, in July 2024, Mitsubishi Fuso will officially launch the eCanter electric truck in Indonesia. The initial stage of sales will be carried out in the Jakarta metropolitan area, with the main target being the logistics business sector.
