On May 9, SaverOne 2014 Ltd. received a purchase order for a vulnerable road user (VRU) proof-of-concept (POC) from IVECO, the brand of Iveco Group N.V.

The POC will present SaverOne’s radio frequency (RF)-based solution that could be integrated into the vehicle's Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) logic to enhance vehicle safety.

This follows the entry in March 2024 of an OEM collaboration agreement between SaverOne and IVECO to integrate SaverOne’s in-cabin safety technology within IVECO’s vehicles. SaverOne and IVECO will collaborate to define and develop the POC VRU solution for IVECO.

This solution is expected to be installed in one of IVECO’s vehicles in Europe later this year after which it will be demonstrated to various stakeholders within IVECO.

On April 19, Iveco Bus announced that it is expanding the CROSSWAY intercity bus range with hybrid technology. The CROSSWAY Hybrid is compatible with XTL (X-To-Liquid) renewable fuels and biomethane. Available in 10.7, 12, and 13-meter lengths, it features a new front end with full LED lights, ADAS devices, and the updated IVECO logo.

The hybrid system pairs a Euro VI Step E compliant CURSOR 9 engine with a Voith DIWA NXT gearbox and a 35 kW peak electrical recovery motor. The setup significantly reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. The electrical motor, mounted on the roof with a high-energy LTO battery, assists the engine during start-up and energy recovery phases.

The new CROSSWAY Hybrid meets the upcoming GSR safety regulations effective from July 2024. Manufactured in Vysoké Myto, Czech Republic, the CROSSWAY Hybrid is available for orders with deliveries starting in Spain next July 2024.

With this addition, Iveco Bus offers a multi-energy lineup including CROSSWAY POP & LINE with XTL or biomethane compatible TECTOR 7 or CURSOR 9 engine, CROSSWAY CNG/ CNG hybrid POP & LINE compatible CURSOR 9 engine, and CROSSWAY B100 POP & LINE, all Euro VI Step E compliant with TECTOR 7 engine.
