On April 26, at the Auto China 2024 in Beijing, Jetta, a sub-brand of FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. (FAW-VW), officially launched the new VS5 and VS7 models. The former is available in seven variants, with prices ranging from CNY 87,900 to CNY 121,900. The latter is available in five variants, with prices ranging from CNY 107,900 to CNY 141,900.

Both the VS5 and the VS7 are based on the MQB (Modular Transverse Toolkit) platform and powered by a 110kW/250Nm VW EA211 turbocharged engine, mated to a 5-speed manual or Aisin 6-speed automatic manual transmission. They are available with features such as a 360-degree panoramic image system and ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control).

Jetta also unveiled its 2.0 brand strategy, aiming to open 500 new terminal service outlets, release co-creation and sharing plans for users, and enter the Uzbek market. The brand will introduce the new VA5 sedan in 2024 and roll out a new flagship ICE SUV and accelerate the electrification of its product portfolio in 2025.

On April 19, Volkswagen Group China announced that it will showcase lineup of 44 models, including six world premieres and five China premieres, celebrating its 40th anniversary in China. The highlights include the Audi Q6 L e-tron, new Porsche Taycan tailored for China, and a Volkswagen concept car exclusive to the Chinese market.

Volkswagen Anhui will introduce a new ID. family member, expanding the brand's all-electric portfolio. The display features both NEV and ICE models with advanced technologies for efficiency and digitalization. JETTA will unveil three models, aligning with the Group's 'In China, for China' strategy.

Audi's world premiere includes the Q6L e-tron and the China premiere of the SQ6 e-tron and Q5 e-tron RS. Porsche unveils the 8th variant of Taycan and the all-electric Macan designed for the Chinese market. Additionally, a Lamborghini PHEV model makes debuts at the ‘Group Media Night’. Bentley showcases its latest portfolio with Mulliner's coachbuilt model, Bentley Batur, and a one-of-one Bentley designed for the Chinese market.

With 39 plants and over 90,000 employees in China, Volkswagen strengthens partnerships with high-tech companies like Horizon Robotics, ThunderSoft, and ARK. The Group accelerates its ‘In China, for China’ strategy, focusing on e-mobility, digitalization, and autonomous driving.

On April 9 it was announced that VW will have a technical stoppage for a month on the Tiguan line due to an adjustment in production lines.

According to the Independent Union of VW Workers of Mexico, the stoppage will begin on April 15 and activities will resume on May 13, reducing 600 employees' salaries by 43%.

This technical stoppage was planned to begin on March 19, however, SITIAVW managed to delay it for a month by negotiating the mobilization of workers to the Jetta line, reducing the financial impact on employees.
