SAIC and Dongfeng Motor exhibit EV/PHV; FAW Group's compact concept cars

Summary

 This is the second report on the Beijing Motor Show 2012 (Auto China 2012: 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition) held from April 25 to May 2, 2012 (press days are April 23 and 24). In this report, we summarize the exhibition of 34 new models (including 13 new new energy vehicles) by the top three Chinese OEMs - SAIC (SAIC Motor), Dongfeng Motor (Dongfeng Motor Corp.), and FAW (China FAW Group).


 SAIC exhibited six new models (including three new energy vehicles) that include two EV and PHV that are scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2012 and a flagship sedan under the Roewe brand.

 Dongfeng Motor showcased 10 models that include four new energy vehicles (including the Fengshen E30 EV, which is scheduled to be launched by Dongfeng Motor Passenger Vehicle, which is under the umbrella of Dongfeng Motor, by the beginning of 2013) and six new gasoline-engine vehicles (including the Joyear SUV - Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor's first SUV model).

 FAW displayed 18 models that include four new models under Hongqi (Red Flag) premium brand and three concept cars developed based on Toyota's NBC platform, which will be launched by 2014.
