1.Introduction

-MarkLines' database system on vehicle sales figures is a system that enables global sales figures owned by MarkLines covering 50 countries to be searched by country and maker/brand for showing.

-Data can be processed by Excel after it is saved in the form of CSV.

-Sales figures of major global automakers such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, GM, Ford and Volkswagen are shown by country.

-Total sales volume in 50 countries covers approximately 90% of the global vehicle sales.


2. Explanatory notes

"-" Hyphen No information on the data is provided in the data source.
"0" Zero The sales figure is zero.
"n.a."

An accurate figure or a model name is not available.

Adjustment - In case there is a difference between aggregated figures of data released from local sources by maker and country-level aggregate figures, country-based aggregates prevail. This discrepancy is shown as "Adjustments."
- In case there is a difference between monthly data aggregates and announced yearly data, the yearly figures prevail. This discrepancy is shown as "Adjustments."

USA Various publicity materials by automakers

- Volvo Cars figures in the Car classification will include the figures of XC70 that have been shown in the Light Trucks classification in August and thereafter.

- Others=Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Maserati, Maybach, Rolls-Royce.

[Ford]
- Ford sold Volvo Cars to Geely in August 2010.
- Ford sold Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata in June 2008.
- Ford light-duty trucks do not include "Medium-duty trucks." This creates a discrepancy between the total data announced by Ford and our total data.
- Light-duty "F-Series" trucks include some of the "F-Series" classified as medium-duty trucks.
 
[GM(Chevrolet)]
- GM light-duty trucks do not include "Heavy Trucks." This creates a discrepancy between the total announced by GM and our total.
- Chevrolet light-duty trucks include some of vehicles classified as medium-duty trucks.
 
[Chrysler(Dodge)]
- Light-duty "Ram"trucks include some of the "Ram" classified as medium-duty trucks.
 
[Adjustments of light-duty trucks]
- Light-duty trucks of the "Ford F-Series," "Dodge Ram" and "Chevrolet" announced by automakers every month include some of vehicles classified as medium-duty trucks. Adjustments of medium-duty trucks of the three automakers are the figures of medium-duty trucks that were included in the figures of medium-duty trucks. The adjustments are updated once a year when figures of medium- and heavy-duty trucks are added.

Passenger cars for 2004 include some of models under the classification of "Mini Buses."
Numbers of "Mini Buses" included in passenger cars are revised and tallied as adjustments.
The vehicles classification  in China has been changed since 2005. "Semi-cars" formerly classified as "Min Buses" are now classified passenger cars. (April 2, 2012)

5. Other notes in use of the data

-Processing by Excel: If you want to process the data on the screen by Excel, left-click "Process by Excel" at the left top on the screen, and save the data in the form of CSV. Then, open the Excel file. If you try to open the data on the screen directly by Excel, you cannot save it.
-Garbled characters in CSV files: In remarks in CSV files some Chinese characters of Chinese company names are garbled. This is a technical problem that cannot be avoided. Your kind understanding is appreciated.  



6. EV/HV search

EV/HV search is based mainly on EV and HV only models. Hybrid vehicles other than hybrid only models are posted only if their sales figures are available.
The following models are not subject to the EV/HV search system since 2010.
