Business Overview

-Japan's first carburetor manufacturer.

-The Company mainly designs, develops, and manufactures fuel systems for LPG and CNG powered vehicles and their related equipment; automotive fuel devices; and carburetors for automotive engines.

Financial Overview

-In FY ended March 2020, the Company generated consolidated sales of JPY 7,526 million, which was 4.3% decrease on a year-over-basis (y/y). The Group's operating profit was JPY 639 million (18.3% decrease y/y), ordinary profit was JPY 718 million (26.4% decrease y/y), and net income (attributable to owners of parent company) was JPY 491 million (38.7% decrease y/y).

Feb. 1932 Established in February with capital of 40,000 Yen as Japan's first carburetor factory.
Mar. 1933 Developed carburetor for automobile and aircraft.
Mar. 1951 Developed carburetor and fuel pump for automobiles and agricultural engines.
Mar. 1952 Capital was increased to 20 million yen.
Jan. 1960 Capital was increased to 50 million yen, and to 100 million yen in October.
Jan. 1960 Nagoya branch opened in January and Hiroshima branch in April.
Sep. 1960 Completed construction of the 2nd factory.
Jan. 1961 Completed construction of the headquarters.
Capital was increased to 150 million yen in August.
Oct. 1961 Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Mar. 1962 Capital was increased to 250 million yen.
Mar. 1963 Developed L.P.G. carburetion system for automobile.
Sep. 1963 Acquired a site for factory in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Dec. 1964 Capital was increased to 500 million yen.
Dec. 1964 Developed two-stage, four-barrel carburetor.
Apr. 1967 Construction of Atsugi factory. Operation commenced from September.
Mar. 1968 Started business cooperation with Hitachi, Ltd.
Sep. 1972 Joined the Automotive Device Technical Research Association (Ji-Ki-Ken) including Hitachi, Ltd.
Nov. 1974 Acquired shares of Tajima Precision Industrial Corporation (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Jun. 1978 Acquired shares of Nikki Service Corporation.
Sep. 1978 Completed construction of the technical center at the headquarters factory.
Mar. 1984 Developed electronic fuel injection device for automobiles.
Mar. 1987 Development of ECUs and hybrid injection system for automobile engines.
May, 1988 The Shinagawa factory was consolidated into the Atsugi factory.
Oct. 1989 Acquired shares of Nikki Techno Corporation (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Jan. 1990 Completed construction of headquarters building in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo.
Oct. 1994 Moved headquarters to Atsugi City, Kanagawa Pref.
Oct. 1995 Established a joint venture company, Shenyang Rixin Carburetor Corporation in China.
Sep. 1996 Acquired shares of Techno High Pack Inc.
Jan. 1998 Established a subsidiary company, Nikki America, inc. in Illinois U.S.A.
Oct. 2001 Renamed Nippon Carburetor Co., Ltd. to Nikki Co., Ltd.
Sep. 2004 Established Nikki Soltech Co., Ltd., an unconsolidated subsidiary to develop, manufacture and sell fuel supply system for gas-based automobiles and acquisition of certificates for emission control tests.
Jun. 2005 Established Nikki Korea Co.,Ltd, which is currently a non-consolidated subsidiary, in South Korea
Nov. 2005 Established Nikki America Fuel Systems, LLC, which is currently a consolidated subsidiary in the U.S.A.
Apr. 2009 Nikki Soltech Co., Ltd. absorbed Nikki Service Corporation. The company name was changed to "Nikki Soltech Service Co., Ltd." 
Aug. 2011 Established Nikki India Fuel Systems Private Limited, as a non-consolidated subsidiary.
Aug. 2013 Established Nikki (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (a non-consolidated subsidiary).
