  From March 24 - April 4, 2021, Thailand's 42nd Bangkok International Motor Show (42nd BIMS) is organized in Bangkok under the theme concept of "Shaping the Next Chapter", attended by prominent international automotive brands and motorcycle firms, including Ford, BMW, MINI, Suzuki, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Maserati, Peugeot, Mazda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Great Wall Motors, Nissan, Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Audi, MG, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Bentley, Volvo, Kia, Subaru, Hyundai Truck & Bus, TAKANO, AP Honda, Suzuki Motorcycle, Yamaha, Harley-Davidson, BAJAJ, KTM and Husqvarna. It has an exhibition space of 170,960 square meters.

  Models showcased at the event include the new Audi Q5 45 TFSI quattro S line Black Edition, Ford Ranger FX4 Max, all-new Haval H6 Hybrid SUV, ORA Good Cat, ORA Black Cat, POER EV electric pick up, Haval "Concept H", all-new Mazda BT-50, new MG Extender, new Nissan Navara Pro 4X, all-new Peugeot 2008, new Suzuki Swift, Toyota Yaris and Ativ "PLAY" Limited Edition, new Volvo XC40 Recharge, BMW M4 Coupe, Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe, Honda City e:HEV, Hyundai Palisade, Maserati MC20, and Subaru Outback etc.

  This year’s event also includes a new special zone dubbed "EV Smart City", allowing visitors to experience automotive innovations, electric motorcycles, electric scooters as well as other innovative products and cutting-edge technology. Moreover, "Car Buddy by GPI application" is available to support visitors with information about cars, maintenance, and roadside assistance as well as offering campaigns and promotions from many car brands.

  The enforcement of strict COVID-19 preventive measures in conformity with government policy is ensured to reduce risk of contamination. As with last year, all visitors are required to wear a face mask at all times when visiting the show and sterilize their hands with hand sanitizer before entering an exhibited vehicle.

  This report will focus on Great Wall Motor's electric models and flagship passenger cars from Japanese automakers.
