In the Chinese pickup truck market, the company has held the top sales spot for more than twenty years. In some parts of China, access restrictions applied to pick-up trucks have been relaxed, and along with the launch of the new Pao pickup brand, GWM is expected to further increase its sales of pickup trucks. Overseas, in 2018 sales in South Africa were the highest, but in 2019, the vehicle assembly plant in Tula, Russia, started operations and it is expected that sales in Russia will surpass South Africa.
