Major OEMs show new SUVs and EV variants for Indian market

Summary

Auto Expo, which is jointly organized by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), has been successfully established as a key global auto show.

The motor show ran from February 7th to the 14th at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. February 7th and 8th were press days, and the show floor was open to the public from the 9th to the 14th. It was held in a 185,000 square meter exhibition hall, and major automakers all set up exhibitions. Most of the OEMs highlighted growing concerns over the environment, and focused on newer, greener technology and products with an aim to help reduce pollution levels. The automakers also displayed concept cars and ready-to-launch models for the Indian market powered by regular internal combustion engines.

One of the highlight of this show was the Indian debut of Kia Motors. This report will focus on concept vehicles and impending releases from key OEMs like Maruti Suzuki, Kia, Hyundai, Honda, and Toyota.
