This report provides an overview of the exhibitions at the 2020 Beijing Motor Show by Geely Group, Great Wall Motor, and BYD, the leading privately-owned independent Chinese automakers. The report focuses primarily on New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) but also covers some of the major vehicles with internal combustion engines.
Geely Group unveiled its vehicles in the Geely Automobile, Lynk & Co, Polestar and Geometry brands at the Beijing Motor Show. Among these vehicles, many Show visitors gathered around Geely Automobile's Xing Rui compact sedan. In addition, the ZERO concept model and the SEA EV platform of Geely’s Lynk & Co brand were unveiled, while Polestar brand’s Precept concept model also attracted attention. Great Wall Motor showcased a number of new models based on its new Lemon and Tank platforms. The company also announced the Great Wall pickup truck globalization strategy. BYD displayed the 2021 model year Tang DM, Han EV and Song PLUS, as well as its technology including blade batteries, the DM-p platform and a 1.5L turbo high-performance engine at the Show.
