The 5th China Commercial Vehicles Show (CCVS) was held at the Wuhan International Expo Center from November 1st to 4th 2019. CCVS is China’s only national-level commercial vehicle show held once every two years, and is also currently the largest commercial vehicle show in Asia. This year’s show was held mainly in six halls, with a total exhibition area of 80,000 square meters. Exhibitors were comprised primarily of the major domestic commercial vehicle manufacturers such as FAW, Dongfeng, Shaanxi Automobile, Foton, JAC, and Jiangling (China National Heavy Duty Truck, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Scania, Isuzu, and Hino were not present at this year’s show). Several component manufacturers, such as Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd., JOST (China) Auto Component Co., Ltd., Hyva (China) Mechanics (Yangzhou) Co. Ltd., BPW Meizhou Axle Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Fuwa Engineering Group Co., Ltd. made appearances, with suppliers such as Valeo, WABCO, and Eaton appearing for the first time. Major special equipment vehicle manufacturers that were present at the show include CIMC Vehicles (Group) Co., Ltd. and Liangshan Group as well as many exhibitors from the special vehicle industrial park in Suizhou, Hubei province.

Commercial vehicle sales in China through Q3 2019 saw a year-over-year (y/y) decrease of 3.4% to 3.122 million vehicles. The theme of this year’s show was “Intelligent Drive, Green Development.” In addition to their major products currently for sale, exhibitors also competed with new products as part of their efforts for future intelligentization, China 6-compliance, and NEV (new energy vehicle) related products. This report will cover Dongfeng, FAW, Shaanxi Automobile, Foton, JAC, and Jiangling’s exhibitions.
