Summary

India is the largest manufacturer of two wheelers in the world. The two-wheeler market primarily consists of motorcycle and scooter segments. In the domestic market, two-wheeler industry production grew from 23.2 million units in 2017-18 to 24.5 million units in 2018-19.

The increase in per capita income levels, high fuel efficiency, easy financing options, final mile delivery for the e-commerce sector, government policy for farmers and preference of two-wheeler in eMobility will further boost two-wheeler sales in India. Two wheeler production is expected to grow to 50.6 million units annually by 2026.
