On September 15, Force Motors India launched the final avatar of the all-new Gurkha 2021.
It is powered by a new 2.6 litre 91 bhp Mercedes derived common rail, direct injection, turbocharged diesel engine that generates 250 Nm torque at 1,400 – 2,400 rpm.
The 5-speed Mercedes G-28 transmission with cable shift and the hydraulically activated clutch with booster ensure effortless gear changes.
It can negotiate slopes of 35 degrees in 4x4 low first gear in the crawl mode, and also wade through streams of up to 700mm depth. It offers turning circle radius of just 5.65m.
It is built on a ground up modular architecture platform with an all new wider and longer body, full new interiors, a new crash compliant, high strength C-in-C chassis, new coil spring suspension on all four wheels fine-tuned to achieve the right balance and offer best in class ride quality on multiple surfaces.
It has features like steering column with tilt and telescopic adjustment, power windows, central locking, speed sensing door locks, rear parking sensors, single piece rear door with wipers, variable intermittent speed front wipers etc.
Force will commence deliveries in October.

On September 6, Polestar announced that its new versions of the Polestar 2 electric performance fastback have made European public debut at IAA 2021 in Munich, customer deliveries will begin in September at EUR 45,000.
Polestar 2 model range now offers three powertrains. A new addition to the Polestar 2 models is an optional heat pump upgrade which uses ambient heat and residual thermal energy from the drivetrain to precondition the battery pack and maintain cabin temperature to reduce energy requirements for climate control by as much as 50%.
The heat pump is available as part of the new Plus Pack add-on, alongside a full-length panoramic glass roof, premium Harman Kardon audio system, WeaveTech upholstery, Black Ash deco panels, fully-electric heated front seats with memory, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel and heated wiper nozzles.
The Pilot Pack includes enhanced safety and driver assistance features, such as the Pixel LED headlights with LED front fog lights, Driver Assistance with Adaptive Cruise Control and Pilot Assist, a 360-degree surround view camera, all-round parking sensors, and Driver Awareness including Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with steering support, Cross Traffic Alert with brake support, and Rear Collision Warning.
The existing optional Performance Pack remains available for the Long range Dual motor variant only, and includes adjustable Öhlins dampers, Brembo brakes, forged 20-inch alloy wheels and signature ‘Swedish gold’ details inside and out.

On July 22, Ford India introduced two automatic variants (AT) of its flagship hatchback Figo. Available in Titanium and Titanium+ trims, the new Figo AT offers segment-best six-speed, torque converter automatic transmission that is paired to BS-VI compliant three-cylinder 1.2L gasoline engine.
It delivers 96 PS of power and 119 Nm of peak torque.
The Ford Figo AT offers a perfect combination of performance, refinement and drivability with the new sport mode and SelectShift features on the six-speed automatic transmission. In Sport Mode, the transmission will select the optimum gear with shifts happening faster for more responsive driving delivering the best performance. While the SelectShift feature will enable the driver to change gears manually using a toggle switch on the gearshift lever.  
Figo AT also offers several industry-best features rain-sensing wipers, side and curtain airbags, traction control system, electronic stability control and hill launch assist. Its price starts from INR 775 thousand.
