On February 14, NIRA Dynamics announced the opening of its new garage that will focus on supporting electric vehicle manufacturers. The garage will help support a comprehensive suite of services that are tailored to meet the needs of electric vehicle manufacturers.
The new garage will provide support to a range of software services that will help electric vehicle manufacturers improve safety, battery regeneration, battery management, and sustainability. These services will be complemented by NIRA Dynamics' existing suite of software solutions, including tire pressure monitoring, wheel safety services, and advanced driver assistance system improvements.
On February 2, SAIC-Hongyan’s in-house developed Level 2+ intelligent heavy-duty trucks were delivered in volume for the first time, and will be officially used for China-wide trunk line logistics transportation.
The trucks are equipped with not only regular driving assistance such as Electronic Brake System (EBS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), but also intelligent devices such as 360-degree Surround View, Driver Monitoring System (DMS), Tire Emergency Safety System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Blind Spot Detection and Driver Behavior Monitoring System, effectively reducing the risk of accidents.
For the characteristics of large quantity and long distance of trunk logistics transportation, the trucks also feature high-precision map and high-precision positioning technologies, which, coupled with the AMT automated shift technology (saves 10% fuel compared with the conventional AMT technology), can realize automated control of upshift, downshift, acceleration and deceleration with full-speed optimal control as well as automated overtaking, automated lane changing, automated obstacle dodging, etc. by sensing the traffic in the driving direction through radars and cameras, greatly reducing the burden on the driver.
