On January 15, Iran Khodro announced that a new generation of the popular EF family engine called EFP will soon be unveiled in a ceremony and will be mass-produced. The turbocharged EFP engine has four cylinders and 16 valves and is capable of producing between 160 and 170 horsepower, and its maximum torque is 240 Nm. 
 It will be the most powerful driving force that is currently produced in the Iranian automobile industry. The new engine will be used in the new Denaplus Turbo. The EFP engine is designed in such a way that its cylinder head and cylinder block can be produced on the EF7 production line. The EFP Turbo engine has an advanced CVVT variable valve timing system.

BorgWarner inaugurated a new plant in Thiruvallur District near Chennai, India, which has extensive manufacturing, assembly, and storage space. The Assembly of BorgWarner’s high-performance engine control and variable camshaft timing (VCT) systems will be centralized in the new facility, which will also provide space for warehousing and shipping. As per the company, having two plants in the same area enables them to optimize logistics and improve their supply chain. Furthermore, the expansion highlights its role as an important regional employer. BorgWarner anticipates that operations will take place across a total area of more than 83,600 square feet, enabling further expansion of manufacturing capacities and the creation of additional jobs in the region. Volvo Car Corporation announced the launch of a new Range Assistant in-car application to help optimize the driving range of its battery electric models. The Range Assistant app will be released as a beta version as part of an over-the-air update for Volvo models that have an Android Automotive OS infotainment system. The app helps drivers keep track of the available range of their vehicle, optimize range through smart energy management and provide driving recommendations from an efficiency perspective. The range optimization function on the Range Assistant can adjust the vehicle’s climate control system automatically to maximize driving distance.
In addition, the over-the-air update will enable increased range due to improved battery management, enhanced regeneration performance and a new timing system to pre-condition batteries. The Range Assistant app will be available as part of the over-the-air update for Volvo XC40 Recharge models. It will be automatically installed on Volvo C40 Recharge models from the start of production. Volvo expects that all applicable models will be updated by the end of October.
