On September 14, Toyata unveils new RAV4 Adventure along with revised RAV4 SUV. UK deliveries for both model range will begin in first quarter of 2022.

On September 14, Mazda Motor Europe announced that a significantly updated version of its SUV, the CX-5, goes on sale throughout Europe early next year. Mazda’s next generation of Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture has now been applied to the 2022 CX-5, further evolving the bodyshell, suspension and seats to enhance ride comfort and reduce fatigue. Road noise has also been greatly reduced, particularly when driving on rough surfaces such as gravel.
The 2022 CX-5 introduces Mazda Intelligent Drive select (Mi-Drive), which enables the driver to select the most appropriate drive mode with one touch of a switch. Some model grades equipped with i-Activ AWD further benefit from an Off-Road Mode, which makes driving feel more natural on un-made and slippery surfaces. It has safety systems now includes “Cruising & Traffic Support” (CTS). CTS helps reduce driver fatigue by assisting with accelerator, brake pedal and steering operations when stuck in traffic jams. The model also has new styling and stronger grade differentiation, improvements to on-board packaging and practicality.

On September 8, UK Government launched a free app called EV8 Switch, backed by GBP 2.7 million of UK Space Agency funding. It calculates how much money UK drivers could save by switching to an EV compared to their current petrol or diesel vehicle, along with details on the carbon dioxide (CO2) savings and air quality improvements they could achieve. Drivers can also see which electric vehicles would be the most suitable for them based on their current vehicle and how switching to electric could fit in with their current lifestyle.
The government is also helping drivers across the country with an extension to the GBP 50 million government fund to install electric vehicle chargepoints. The move will see small businesses such as B&Bs gain access to the Workplace Charging Scheme. It will also see those in leasehold and rented accommodation enjoy the benefits of the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme, encouraging people to make the switch in areas where charging provision is currently more limited and potentially more challenging to secure.
