On September 14, Elektrobit and Argus Cyber Security announced the launch of EB zoneo SwitchCore Shield, an industry-first pre-integrated solution of embedded intrusion detection and prevention (IDPS) functionality within advanced network management systems for next-generation vehicles. The joint solution is an automotive-grade switch firmware for E/E architectures that pre-integrates Argus Ethernet IDPS, a cyber security protection layer for automotive Ethernet networks, as an embedded module. This production-ready solution reduces carmakers' integration costs and risks while accelerating new vehicles' time to market.
It allows carmakers to evaluate data detected and quickly determine actions required to confront an attempted cyber-attack. By offloading network and cyber-related tasks to the switch firmware, it optimizes the microcontroller unit's computational resource consumption. EB zoneo SwitchCore Shield also enables carmakers to comply with emerging cyber security regulations, such as UN R155 and Chinese GB/T, and also takes security a step further, providing an additional layer of threat prevention via Argus Ethernet IDPS for increased interoperability with Classic AUTOSAR systems.

On September 8, Chery's Jetour brand launched the Jetour Dasheng, an all-new compact SUV. Available in 8 variants (6 fuel-powered variants and 2 i-DM plug-in hybrid variants), it is priced between CNY 99,900 and CNY 169,900.
The Jetour Dasheng represents the first model developed based on Jetour’s latest Kunlun architecture. The Dasheng i-DM (referring to intelligent Dual Mode hybrid technology) marks the first model developed on the Kunlun intelligent HV (hybrid vehicle) platform. Both the Kunlun HV platform and the Chery Power belong to the "Kunlun Intelligent Drive" section under the Kunlun architecture. They both use dual drive motors, along with batteries supporting intelligent temperature control and fast charging.
Built on a pioneering mechanical aesthetic design language, the vehicle features a stylish exterior. It has split headlamps, a slanted front nose, and a dive spoiler. It measures 4,590mm long, 1,900mm wide and 1,685mm (or 1,690mm) high with a wheelbase of 2,720mm.
All versions of the vehicle adopt a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout. The fuel-powered version carries a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine (delivering a maximum power output of 145kW and a peak torque of 290Nm, adopting an intelligent High Efficiency Combustion (HEC) system and a thermal management system enabling rapid warming), mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT). It consumes 7.7L of fuel per 100km in WLTC mode. The powertrain combination of a 1.5L turbocharged engine and a 6-speed MT (manual transmission); DCT will be available in later versions.
The i-DM plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a hybrid-only 1.5TCI engine (maximum power output: 115kW, peak torque: 230Nm) and dual permanent magnet synchronous motors (maximum power output: 125kW, peak torque: 315Nm). Adopting a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), the vehicle can be intelligently switched between three modes: pure electric, series, and parallel. The system has a comprehensive power of 240kW and a comprehensive torque of 545Nm. Powered by a 19.27kWh ternary lithium-ion battery, the vehicle consumes 1.8L of fuel per 100km in WLTC mode. It has a WLTC range of 80km under EV mode and a total range of more than 1,000km.
The vehicle is equipped with features such as smart voice control and online FOTA (firmware over-the-air) updates. Some versions of the vehicle include a large 15.6-inch touch screen, a driver monitoring system (DMS), a navigation system combining maps from AutoNavi, Baidu, and Tencent, and 40W smartphone wireless charging. An optional Level 2.5+ driver assistance system is available for the highest-spec fuel-powered version.

On September 9, Hero Electric announced a partnership with one-stop battery swapping start-up VoltUp and Adani Electricity. The partnership is going to add 50 locations by year-end to cover the western line from Churchgate to Mira-Bhayandar. In their effort, VoltUp will set up smart electric mobility stations across the city for easy access to battery swapping, the partnership looks to operationalize 500 such battery swapping solutions centers across Mumbai by 2024, catering to over 30,000 riders daily.
This association with VoltUp, Adani Electricity, and Zomato will establish a dense infrastructure encouraging more riders to switch to EVs and operate smoothly without worrying about range anxiety issues.
